Found M&S Car Insurance after searching via 'go compare .com" Not the cheapest - but I thought that with a Company like M&S behind it , it should be worth the extra ! How wrong I was ! Completed the details and got a reasonable quote, which I decided to accept - MISTAKE ! After giving my card details I tried to 'register and the site collapsed - got back in again and had to go through all the details again ! “Frustrating call centre, online services poor”

I just completed one year of car insurance with Marks & Spencer's, I can honestly say they have the most frustrating Call Center advisors I have ever had to deal with. You have to wait three full minutes to listen to recorded messages each time you call them, some of these recorded messages tell you how you can do lots of things online... no you can't! you can't do anything on their online system you can only view your documents. “100 % + Increase ”

Logged a claim for car contents theft. Claim rejected as not covered. When renewal came over 100% increase on policy. Phone to find claim still "pending" Had battle to get pending claim removed considering they never paid out !! Then asked for a new quote. Told it was still the same as the pending claim was now down as an "Incident" and affected the renewal regardless of them paying out. “Shockingly bad”

Mind-boggingly bureaucratic. Hours on the phone listening to music while they are 'experiencing exceptional demand' Asked numerous times for the same security data. Staff hassle us to pursue injury claim to the point of harassment. Had to fill in endless forms and then told by underwriter that none of these sent to them so had to do a whole new set. “250% 'amendment fee' ”

I have just tried to add my son as a temporary driver on my Marks & Spencer car insurance policy. They quoted £10 for cover and a 250% 'amendment fee'. “No communication ”

Shocking service, I called to change my address and they asked if there were any other changes to make, such as employment or anything. I've recently taken a delivery driver job in which I use a provided van from the company and they said that because of my job change they could not insure me anymore, I would have to take out a new policy which rose my payments from £79 to £92 a month. “Don't touch them”

Insurance was cancelled by them after they failed to call me back to update my employment details. Their customer services operative was supposed to get back to me to discuss a job title change as I had called close to his work day ending. he didn't bother and the next thing I now they have cancelled my policy and are trying to charge me a full years premium. “Don't buy a new car or you get hit!”

We bought a new car midterm through our insurance. When we rang to transfer it to the new car the premiums doubled from £34 a month to £76 a month. Using comparison sites most of the quotes there were cheaper than the 34. When we cancelled we were charged £51. Avoid M&S car insurance they are rip off merchants!… Read Full Review

Just rang them up to change over my insurance to another car. They wanted 45 pound for the privilege, so I had to cancel (which they then charged me 50 pound to cancel my policy) be warned! “So disappointed with M&S car insurance ”

I have been with M&S car insurance for a couple of years, I March I rang them to tell them I was having a tow bar fitted to my Kia Sorento. They informed me that my current policy underwriters would not insure me and the only option was to take out a new policy at an additional cost. I was not happy but I went along with it. “Cons!!”

They made a huge mistake on my policy which they take blame for but they still expected me to start again and pay a big deposit, I saI'd noway I'm doin that, they said fine no deposit but they still took it out of my bank account when they said they woudnt!!! I went with M&S insurance as they offered a reasonable quote covering everything I needed and were a well known and trusted brand. Unfortunately I was involved in a small collision in March where 3rd party changed lanes into me on a roundabout. I do not recommend M&S car insurance to ANYONE. They are a rip off, poor customer service, Over charging bunch of con-artists. Every opportunity they can they will charge you money. I've changed my address x2 and my surname and been charge for the privilege. M&S car insurance. Very poor customer service and product knowledge by what we thought was a reputable company. After a non fault accident (we were not even in the car) and the gent who was reponsible admited liability on the phone to his own insurer. Great we thought, this should be dealt with promptly. Paid for courtesy car, breakdown cover, return to home cover. Had a minor accident and was left from 4.00am to 8.20am in a lay by waiting to be recovered. They refused to take me home, I was told I would be taken to a safe point, turned out to be a Little Chef on the A303. “Window Screen Replacment”
