The Suites Hotel, Knowsley, Merseyside

I was a wedding guest at The Suites Hotel, Knowsley and I thought it to be a nice venue to hold a wedding or wedding reception. It is advertised as being a luxury hotel but in my opinion it is not up to this standard. I must stress I did not stay overnight but I did see a couple of other guest's rooms which I thought were quite small and resembled that of a Premier Inn. They were nicely decorated though and looked clean and comfortable which is what counts I suppose. I did have the option of booking a room prior to the wedding and was offered a special rate as I was a wedding guest, which I thought was good. I didn't book one in the end though as I live locally anyway. The bar was nice, we relaxed here whilst waiting for the reception to start. I thought the bar prices were quite expensive but this can be said for many wedding hotels. I thought the function room was small compared to others I've seen but it wasn't a huge wedding so all the guests fitted in there comfortably. One of the highlights for me was the wonderful atrium we were led into when we arrived. It was a lovely summers day so the room was lit up beautifully and all the guests then had chance to chat to the bride and groom. There was also a water feature in here which was a nice touch, I found this area very relaxing. The entrance to the hotel is also very nice and inviting. I put location as good and bad points because it is situated on a main A road into Liverpool which was very accessible for the guests but also, on chatting in the entrance to the hotel, road noise could be heard which I felt didn't make the location feel very private. The hotel is very easy to find though. Despite the bad points I experienced I have still given this venue 7 out of 10 because a good time was had by all, the bride and groom thought the place was fantastic and I have some nice memories of it. I would recommend it as even though I probably wont visit again, I think it would be a nice location for a budget or intimate wedding.
