My Secret Garden Party Review... Just A Quic
My Secret Garden Party review...
Just a quick heads up for those who have not been to Secret Garden Party, but might next year
To be fair there is tons of stuff going on, more than shambala for example. It is also one of the best looking festivals with tons of lights and trippy stuff everywhere. The fireworks and fireshow on the Saturday was awesome, if not one of the best things I have seen at a festival.
However, this is completely out weighted by the thugs on security who like to make up there own rules and are extremely heavy handed, the huge amount of sniffer-dogs on the gates, been only allowed to bring 12 cans of beer and no spirits on site - with constant searches to check that you are within these rules plus the quality of the sounds systems were rubbish. This is not to mention the £4 a pint at the corporate bars once you have drunk your allowance on the first night. Also the lack of toilets and water pointed throughout the whole site, the rubbish stewarding to get in and out of the festival, the 4 hour queue in the rain to get in the gate as they searched everyone at the beginning of the festival plus the 4 hour traffic jam to get out.
Although lots of fun, don't be fooled, SGP is a corporate festival with lots of corners cut and is not the 'right-on' hippy festival it tries to make out that it is. For £40 more you could go to Glastonbury and get 40 times the festival, or get a much better vibe at Shambala for £40 less.
