The Waterside Inn is located in the beautiful small town of Bray in MaidenHead in England. It is situated on the River Thames and is absolutely beautiful. When you arrive, you are kindly greeted by Diego (the Maitre'd and manager). He warmly greets you, takes your coats and leads you to the table if you don't want an aperitif. The menu looks delicious and there is a good choice, if you want something else, anything can be created for you, for example they created foie gras and langoustines for one of my children as a starter. The Menu Exceptionnel changes through seasons, here is an example: Smooth parmesan cream with truffle and pink fir apple potato, served with an almond pastry straw Warm escalopes of foie gras with cardamom, glazed root vegetables, verjuice and sultanas sauce Pan-fried lobster medallions with a white port sauce and ginger flavoured vegetable julienne Duo of seasonal game with a pumpkin subric, parcel of wild mushrooms and spinach, poivrade sauce Roasted Challandais duck, served with stuffed cabbage leaves and a lightly spiced damson jus (for 2 people) Teardrop of milk chocolate mousse flavoured with caramel, mango and passion fruit filling, mango sorbet Warm orange soufflé with cranberries Café et mignardises This menu sounds amazing and it is... Between most courses you get a 'complement' from the chef and you are entertained throughout the evening by the beautiful vue and the staff. At the end, when you have finished your delicious meal, the chef (Alain Roux) comes out and greets you and discusses your meal with you. So overall the experience is unbelievable. If you are a party over 8, you can hire the unbelievable orivate room, which used to be Michel Roux Snr's house, so you are dining like in your own house with a nice garden. The Royal Family comes here once a year at least and also celebrates birthays here! The Waterside Inn is a special place. The standard represents the price which for the Tasting Menu is £147.50 per person. You need to book in advance, but it is worth the money and the wait! Bray is a beautiful place; in the Summer you can also take a boat trip before lunch or dinner at the Waterside Inn. Bray is a gastronomical location also containing Heston's Fat Duck. I highly recommend The Waterside Inn to anyone as it is a must go and a memory which lasts for ever as the food is to die for! My family loves it! If you have any questions, please contact me...
