Myself and family stayed at the Ben Nevis Hotel and leisure club 25/5/12 to the 27/5/12.
First of all the Hotel is very run down and seemed to be having a lot of work done-on the outside only, lots of rubbish around the car park and building materials everywhere. The outside looked as if it had not any work since the 1970's.
Inside was the same "tired" the rooms were clean but had not had any work to improve them for a long time, the bathrooms were horrible. The taps in only spewed out boiling hot water on the sink and the shower whilst it was good pressure kept jumping form boiling to freezing. The sink was also lose and coming away from the wall-how this could be missed when cleaning is anybody's guess.
We arrived at the hotel very early on our check in day-we knew that the check in was from 1500hrs. We asked if it was possible that we could get into our room early-grunts from the front desk and a half hearted reply of we'll see what we can do resulted in us getting into our room only one hour early. The reason I mention this was that whilst we were there the entire hotel checked out got into coaches and left-why it would have been so difficult to just clean our room first is anyones guess.
The food at breakfast I thought was dreadful but one of our group liked it-the other four did not.
The bar staff were friendly but they were the only ones everyone else didn't seem to want to help at all.
The leisure centre staff were also pleasant.
Overall is that we paid £109 per night for a shoddy hotel with poor service-dont stay here go to a B&B you will get a much better quality and cheaper.
