Beautiful, Heart Felt, Easy Listening.

In this debut album Swift breaches the gap between country and mainstream music in a beautifully personal way. Each song is catchy, beautifully written and fantastically performed. While it can be said that the album is samey as some of the songs have similar instrumentals, i feel that the quality of the lyrics and clear personal bond that the singer has with each song makes up for this. It isn't often that you find such a natural voice, simple beauty and talent all rolled up into one artist but "Fearless" displays all of Taylor swifts attributes. "Fearless" is a breath of fresh air in an industry obsessed with sexualisation and gimmicky lyrics sang by girls dancing around in next to nothing. The songs "The way I loved you" and "Hey Stephen" are in my personal opinion, particularly well performed and enjoyable to listen to despite them being lesser known than tracks such as "Love story" which i personally do not feel showcases Swifts natural talent.

You Can Give Shania Twain Or Reba Mcentire Credit

You can give Shania Twain or Reba McEntire credit for making pop more coexistent with country music, but that was only to a degree of moderation. In Taylor Swift's full-length debut "Fearless", she does nothing but put full emphasis on the pop-oriented side of country and everything that makes you wish Christopher Columbus turned back. If you've heard the singles ("Tim McGraw", "Love Story", "You Belong With Me"), then you pretty much have an idea on what the entire album is like. Throughout the whole album, you hear the same chord progression through every chorus of every song on here. Sure, everything is catchy, but it's nothing but Justin Bieber-related adolescent fantasies mixed in with crudely manufactured Disney music. This album is everything but original. It's nothing but gimmicky.
