The Co-operative Bank Current

After 30 years of being a customer with no problem ever paying back credit , this customer led ethical bank has slashed my credit card limit by 80% within a week of sending a letter with no explanation! Even their own customer services team could give me no reason other than saying they can do this within their terms and conditions.

This is whilst pushing out rubbish marketing nonsense about caring for customers and wanting to help where possible in this pandemic!!! Couldn't have been less helpful at a time when everyone only takes credit cards!

Cooperative bank is 'cashing in' on the current bad press the other banks are experiencing. But do not fall for all the 'ethical' hype -this Coop Bank is same as all the rest, except that its service is worse. The 'best bank account' so-called 'reward' was way back in 2011, not voted for by customers, but self-acclaimed. Features include terribly inferior online banking, bad security which keeps signing out with error messages, transactions take several days to update on both current account and credit card so you will never know how much money you really have. Cannot change pin on savings account cashcard as it is too basic. Customer service centre is in the UK which they keep harping on about but SO WHAT? They are still incompetent, ignorant and unsympathetic to your needs. If you make a complaint, you are unlikely to get a reply, eventually you'll get a reply saying it will be addressed in 4 weeks. 4 weeks later you will get the same again! And finally, if you were enticed by some sort of 'switching bonus', forget about getting that, it is a Scam to get you on board. A bank which lies? Oh yes, very 'ethical' indeed. If you enjoy bad service and getting scammed -welcome to Cooperative Bank. Furthermore they have recently changed all their contact telephone numbers to 0844 ones instead of 0845 which were cheaper to call -Another rip off. In my experience and that of thousands of others, Coop Bank is officially the Worst Bank Ever.
