I initially opened a NatWest bank account because I was dissatisfied with my current bank. I actually thought after seeing their TV advertising campaign that they might be trying to improve. Do not be fooled. My story: I have now had 3 (or it could be 4, I lose count) bank cards. For security you have to change the pin when it is received. On each occasion when I have changed the pin I have been locked out of my account; hence the amount of new cards I have had. I don't bother any more because NatWest WILL NOT LISTEN. I then thought I would use my card online. They have that covered as well. Apparently, one has to use the card every month online or it is cancelled and will not be reinstated. Yes, I did contact them about this ridiculous procedure. I was informed that it was their policy and it could not be changed. NOT LISTENING there then. To all intents and purposes, I have a bank card which I am not allowed to use, but they will accept money into the account. For a LISTENING BANK they appear not to do very much listening, just dictating. Fortunately, I took the precaution of trying before buying, so as to speak. Suffice it to say, I will not be transferring my main account to them. Perhaps Trading Standards would like to step in should they play that misleading, inaccurate TV advertisement in the future. This is one bank to be avoided.

n one word disgrace. This bank will rip you off left right & centre, even if you go 10pence overdrawn they will charge you up to £40 a time. They also charge you £15 a time to send a letter out to your address. Yet in there adverts they have the cheek to say that they do "helpful banking" that is far from the truth... NatWest are a disgrace!
