I used various antivirus and firewall software before and at the end I've chosen Kaspersky. It updates really fast and has huge database of known viruses and other threats, is customizeable quite easy and is quite unexpensive. In my opinion this is all we need from such product! It's not the fastest by the way, and can significantly slower down the work of your netbook, but if you have a decent laptop you will be pretty happy with everything. Not forget to check their special price deals - sometimes there are very afforbable options available!

Gets the job done without stopping me doing what I want to do. What more do you need?

Tried free version which worked good but didn't want to pay for full version. Tried to un-install but wait a minute, it won't let you! Hmmm did a little research and apparently I am not the only one. Switched to Avast which is faultless and disabled then deleted the start-up of Kapersky and program files. Also had to load a file deleting software for some files that did not want to go. Not recomended as a free trial maybe the paid one is better but who cares when avast home is free all the time? (not me)

Yes I had to use an uninstall tool for McAfee but with a know-how and no need to try contact the support, if these people had bothered to browse or ask the forum or browse through the knowledgebase, the answer is there. Just use MCPR.exe to remove the traces and KIS 2009 installed no problem.
It's an excellent program with a strong firewall. What I like about KIS 2009, if you install in express installation, there is no need for configuration. All the settings are set up for home users. You don't need to configure the firewall, the applications rules are already set up.
The detection and removal are done automatically. It has a virtual keyboard and also scan for vulnerabilities. But the only area where you need to sort out is the vulnerabilities. You need to sort out yourself.
The only downside is that Kaspersky will stop supporting KIS 2009 by December 24th of this year but you can upgrade to the later versions for free if you have a current subscription.

This review may seem like a bit of a contradiction!
Firstly, the Kaspersky 2009 and 2010 full suite has got very good reviews in head-to-head tests with other Anti-Virus progs, but... loads of people have had trouble installing the prog, and also, -when installed, have then found all sorts of horrible probs occurring, such as their computers crashing / freezing or whatever, so have had to uninstall and look elsewhere... One of the reasons for this is that Kaspersky have fallen down on the job!! Yes, they have made an efficient product, but they haven't sorted out *CONFLICTS* with their product. This means that if you try to install with *any* traces of a different AV on yr system, it is going to mess things up big time!
In my own case, I am fairly proficient with computers (I teach people how to use them!) but in the end had to ring the company helpline (at 10p a minute, on a landline!) and found out that so many people have problems loading the prog, that they have had to design extra bits of downloadable software patches, just to get the darned thing to load up!
I bought the official / legit 2010 DVD, and it wasn't cheap, but in the end had to also try thrice downloading the full prog from their site. Altogether I spent a full _10 hours_ fiddling about, trying to install. The main problem? -- My new install of Windows XP Pro (on a brand new pc) came with automatic bits of McAfee AV hidden deep inside it. [-stoopid Microsoft!]. Kaspersky 2010 Internet Security suite found these traces and wouldn't load up. What a blunder on Kaspersky's part! = A very poorly designed product! In the early days I have used Norton -but never again! (Bloat-ware! and takes over too much). Then I switched to Trend Micro PC-cillin, but, -whilst proficient, was too heavy + intrusive, and one year the official upgrade wrecked my system. After carefully reading 100's of reviews, I finally settled on Kaspersky, but regretted it quickly after all that messing about trying to fix what Kaspersky _should_ have sorted before they put it on the market! Next year, when my subscription runs out, maybe Bitdefender? -who knows!

Despite Kaspersky's claims this or the 2010 version is NOT compatible with Windows 7. It provokes termination of and interference with Microsoft programs such as Outlook and explorer. Kaspersky admit to the problem but have yet to provide a patch to fix the problem - worse than having a virus really.

Kaspersky IS 2010 has been detecting viruses or vulnerabilities without giving the file location for further investigation or the option to keep or delete. It fails when detecting something to give an option to make safe and tends just to delete anything that looks suspicious. Even if it's a false positive, KIS it goodbye with Kaspersky

Hi guys,
i have been using Kaspersky for about a year now. It has always kept my PC safe. it removed certain malware and virus which was not detected by Norton anti-virus.
Sometimes i feels it take too much of my internet bandwidth too update and takes a toll on my Ram. I wish Kasperesky could look in to that in the future

Awsome anti virus software. After downloading kaspersky i tried downloading a virus on purpose to check and see if kaspersky would detect it. IT WORKED!!. The software detected the virus and stopped it. Stops weak Trojans aswell.
Recommend it to everyone.

4 years of using Kaspersky since version 6.0 until now 2009 version 8.0 Kaspersky provide the most secured protection to my PC.
- I tried Norton
- Avast FREE
- AVG FREE
all of them can detect even the weak trojans.

Purchased Kaspersky because I had it installed on my previous computer, prior to that had McAfee: found it slowed my PC down to much. Easy to install, web site easy to navigate, smooth purchase and install, oh and reasonably priced.

Customer service terrible.
Waited 20 + minutes on phone with Kaspersky. Way to long. Trying to renew. Was advised that I could have done it on line but not as a renewal customer which I am . Nothing on site about this.
Wasted 1 hour of my time.
Go to McAfee.
Less hassel.
