I've had this HP 6735 laptop for around 6 months and it's great. I wiped Vista and put Debian GNU/Linux Lenny on it with no real issues. CPU is quick and with 4GB RAM and 250GB HDD I am struggling to use up the resources.
The ports are well laid out on the side of the unit resulting in less fiddling round th eback of the unit when setting up say on a train.
Wireless, sound, 3D, touchpad and power controls all work excellently in Linux. If you run it in dual head regularly there's no way to enable both outputs by default from the BIOS controls which means you have enable both screens after booting. This is a bit of a pain but only if you run two screens regularly. 3D works perfectly with AMD (fglrx) drivers.
The only real downside I have found is the battery. At best I get an hour and a half out of it (from new), average is an hour. This is less an issue for me as I usually use the unit on a desktop and thus plugged in but I wouldn't recommend this as a laptop for travelers.
Overall it's a great laptop but if long battery life is important to you - get something else.

I recently got the Hewlett Packard 6735s laptop and so far so good. From the off it looks pretty smart, smooth black cover looks good but Im guessing it wil scratch pretty easily. The keyboard is different to my last laptop which ive had for about 5 years but ive adjusted pretty well.
There are some differences with the layout but everything seems to be in the right place and im confident that the keys arent going to fall out after moderate use, unlike some laptops ive seen.
Ive got a 2Ghz, 2GB RAM and 160gig memory, i think and its more than capable for my needs. I mainly use it work and the internet so I can get all programs I need and use the internet quite well. Im currently using T mobile mobile broadband and that was simple to install and set up, although I have just had problems downloading itunes? Could be the laptop or the connection for that one?
Built in bluetooth is a nice addition and is one less usb device i have to carry round. The speakers sound pretty good and have plenty of power. The battery life seems to last a while, i unpluged it to see how long it would last and it was about 3 hours, although the metre on the control panel keeps you fully informed.
Im still adjusting to the mouse slightly. My last laptop was an Acer Aspire and the when doing a drag and drop if you get to the end of the mouse pad the cursur carried on moving, that is an excellant feature and one as yet I have not seen on other laptops.
On the whole I have only been using this laptop for a short time so my review really is based on first impressions but it is a good laptop; fast, plenty of memory, looks great and other than the cover being scratched i havent found any other particular bad points....as yet.
Really good value for money and does everything i need it to. Nothing too complicated, straightforward use, and thats what ive got.

The HP 6735 Is An Average Looking Laptop For Students And Buisnessmen alike. It has a regular 15" Screen with high resoloution and graphics for Gaming. The 2.1Ghz Processor (AMD Athlon 64 bit) Can Play Most Games, Stay away from games like Call OF Duty 5 And Tom Clancys Rainbow 6 Vegas. It has fantastic RAM, 4gb to be precise which allows you to run alot of programmes at the same time. It also has a large 250gb hard drive and it is easily upgraded to a bigger one. Now For The Less Importiant Features : There Is A 1.3 Megapixel webcam which allows you to talk on IM Services and Make Videos, there is also an extremeley sensitive microphone on the side. There are 4 USB Ports (2 either side) for Cables or computer mice. Finally It Has A Large Speaker Just Abvove the Keyboard For Listening To Music Or Playing Games.
