I have been a customer of HTFR for 25 years. I purchased my first set of decks from the store in 1999 and have continued to order records from them ever since.

Last month, I thought I would upgrade my cartridges along with ordering more records for my collection. I decided to order Ortofon mix mk2 for a home set up, I thought that this would be a good all rounder.

Upon arrival I found that one of the stylus were broken. This is were the story goes wrong.

I sent an email the day which the order arrived with photos of the damaged item asking how one get’s this issue resolved.

The response I received, leaves little in the way of excellent customer service that one would think that in such a competitive market a company would wish to exude.

“Unfortunately, the pictures you sent are very difficult to see. We can’t use them. Can you send some better pictures through please?”

“Hi,

Not sure how I can make it any clearer.

The ability of an iPhone to focus on the tip of a stylus is somewhat limited.

How does one have these replaced?”

“As stylus do not carry any kind of warranty, you would need to purchase a replacement stylus.”

Is this the biggest Sham this company can surely offer. Supply a broken item, try to tell the customer that it is not covered by the Consumer Rights Act and try to make the consumer buy a further items.

Its feels like HTFR are trying any way to fleece their customers. The fact that he isnt even surprised that the item arrived broken. How often are they using this on customers.

I will be taking legal action against the company and would warn off anyone from ordering. Don’t be surprised to receive no support when they deliver broken items to you and their best suggestion is to order a replacement.

To anyone who buys vinyl online, this is the place to go. I have purchased more than once from HTFR.com and every time the service is quick, the package is strongly packed and the condition on the vinyl is always much better than I would expect. Thanks for the service guys. No doubt I will be ordering again soon!

Easy to use website, great collection of vinyl. They even offer decent tunes in their sale instead of just the rubbish they can't shift. Speedy delivery and good value for money. Very impressed all round.

well got my vinyl that i ordered off htfr very speedy and all the vinyl even tho seconhand were in very good condition and and some were mint condition would recomend all the time.

I've just received new vinyl which always arrives promptly, in the past I've had difficulty with the website but the team have been very patient with me and reimbursed me with errors I've made, my overall experience has been very good, I would definetly recommend them to a friend.

I placed an order online and later called to request recorded delivery. I found the sales staff very friendly and helpful. The sales man even retrieved the record and double checked the condition over the phone. The record was posted quickly by recorded delivery and arrived in perfect condition. My only suggestion is that they start using thicker American style record mailers with thick card stiffners. I have never liked the ultra thin stiff card uk mailers because they don't seem to offer much protection. They stuck a fragile label on which was good but they could definitely improve on their packaging.
