Canon 5D Mark II video capture is comparable to $500K pro video equipment. A $2,700 camera doesn't turn you instantly into a production level film maker. A great artistry presentation comes a long way- Pair of God-gifted eyes, high quality lens, film crews and travel expenses just to name a few. But that's not the point; video feature in Digital SLR has the potential to change the industry. The RED camera popularity relies greatly on its compatibility with SLR interchangeable lens; now imagine millions of D-SLR owners! Soon they can express their artistic ability in motion rather than still pictures without the cost or size of pro-level equipment. Its compact size and user friendly operation would benefit wedding photographer or photojournalist on the run - not having to purchase separate tools for filming purposes.

Canon EOS 5D II
Canon have gone to town on the marketing of this new EOIS Camera and so they should have. I have had the chance to use this camera for 4 days whilst travalling across Asia. My day to day job is as an article writer and but my passion has always been photography and I have never been more happy when asked to review this new piece of equipment.
Whilst in Thailand, I managed to take over 1,700 photos some of the most amazing scenary and buildings but many whilst travelling through the small villages capturing what I like to call 'The Real Thailand'.
Anyway on to the review of the EOS 5d II, has a fantastic quality and depth to the pictures it produces and this is due to the full 35 Am frame.
In conclusion, a great camera, great value if you are looking for a great camera to take hi res pictures that you may blow up for larger pictures.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark II has a beautiful 5616x3744 image size, hard to believe, 16x20 prints with no interpolation.
Three fully configurable custom camera settings.
Not restricted to just one RAW + JPEG combination.
Very easy to create HD movies. Manual focus in movie mode is not a problem.
A good mix of pro and semi-pro features.
Canon claims Canon EOS 5D Mark II is the smallest full frame digital camera. Small it may be, light it is not. This camera is heavy.
Not really sure why the Creative Auto mode is on this camera.
Unless the camera is on a tripod, using the Set button to start and stop taking movies is awkward.
It is so easy to set the Canon EOS 5D Mark II Custom C1-C3 settings to Live View, Movie View, Auto bracketing. Or any other favourite combination.
Although it is easy to take HD movies with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II, actually using the movies at the 1080p resolution is another story. Editing HD movies requires a high powered computer and rather good software.
