Very terrible Bank. Avoid it completely. I went to a Branch in London at: 450 Bethnal Green Road, London. It was very smelly and also staff at from desk and Manager seemed very rude and horrible towards customers. The floor was very very messy too. “INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES AND DISHONEST PRACTICES”

Be careful and CHECK EVERYTHING you do with this bank. After having issues getting payments applied to a home equity loan in an timely manner (such as they receive my payment two days before the due date but it doesn't get posted until 5 days later thus causing overdrafts and insufficient fund charges), I decided I had had enough and I had the funds to completely pay off the loan. “This is the worst bank for customer service and time...”

I have been with this bank for more than 20 years when it was called Abbey National and it was a great bank. As a customer of Santander I am so dissaipointed in there rude customer service agents. I did not receive my bank statement for over six months and after calling and speaking to agent after agent. “Santander Treated Me Like a Fraudster”

Went to view a car and made a small deposit via the Santander mobile app. Step 1 complete. Returned a day later to pay the balance and collect the car. Step 2 EPIC FAIL. Santander locked my account and mobile app, I was 50 miles from home. As part of their "fraud prevention" process, when your account is locked they immediately phone you to confirm the attempted payment. Tried phoning Santander customer service today on two occasions.On both occasions waited well over 20 minutes and kept being told by a recorded voice to keep waiting as they were busy and would be with me soon. “Incompetent”

Incompetent and they couldn't care less for personal customers. I did once have a mortgage with them and when I tried to switch my bank A/C too, they couldn't find my address, and thought I lived in a flat, when the mortgage was on a bungalow. Consequently, I wasn't allow to switch my bank A/C to them - THANK GOODNESS! So they provided me with a mortgage on a non-existent property! All my family members bank with Santander and recently my Grandparents, aged 70, went into Santander to request them to take care of a bank transfer for them in order to purchase a car. The cashier took the paperwork, inputted a sort code and account number on to the screen, and then turned the screen and asked my Grandparents to confirm the details were correct. “Shocking service”

I have banked with Santander for over 8 years now and up until now I have had no problems other than ridiculous charges for overdrafts, unpaid DD etc. which to be fair, partly my own fault. However when you have a large sum of money due in (£15000) which would sort your financial situation out and stop the charges you would think your bank would help you out but they haven't. I am in Tenerife and had my wallet stolen with all my cash and cards. I went to a Santander branch in los Gigantes for help and was told they were not Santander uk so no help available. “going back was a mistake”

Both myself and my partner made the mistake of going back to santander. Our internet banking went down and mine is still down after a week. (but thats technology anyway) However we went into the branch where they were unfriendly and unhelpful and told us to ring up, we did and was told there is nothing wrong and basically called us liers saying we must be putting the wtrong password in. “Do not get house insurance ”

Do not get house insurance with Santander, they are one of the most expensive and they do not want to pay out when you put a claim in. There customer services is awful they have messed me about terrible keep saying they are dealing with my complaint but nothing happens. I moved house and ran in to problems immediately when using my bank card as I was repeatedly rejected when attempting to purchase anything for home delivery, being told my card was not registered to my address.
