Changeling Is A Story That Breaks Your Heart As It

Changeling is a story that breaks your heart as it follows the story of Christine Collins (Jolie), a single mother who returns home late from work one day in 1930's LA to discover that her 9 year son has vanished. Christine is determined to find her son even after the LAPD suggest that he has run away. When, after several months, they tell her that they have found her son she is ecstatic but unbeknown to her in order to deflect a glut of negative press about corruption in the LAPD they return a boy who Christine insists is not her son.

The horror that befalls Christine after this "reunion" is unbelievable but that is where this story is different from others. Changeling is based on a true life story where truth really is stranger than fiction. I won't go into what happens next but Jolie's performance is brilliant, she portrays Christine as a strong and determined woman in a male dominated world filled with corruption and poltical agenda. Her faith in the truth and justice shine through. With support from John Malkovich and Jeffrey Donovan this is a stunning film from Clint Eastwood who has directed the film perfectly. Have your hankies at the ready!

Changeling Tells Just How Good An Actress Angelina

Changeling tells just how good an actress Angelina Jolie really is. In other words - she's just not another pretty face, but a brilliant actress. I don't think her talents have been seriously taken notice by "Hollywood." This film was excellent and so was her perfomance. It's an incredible true story of what it was like to be a woman in the 1920's and how we weren't taken seriously. I couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like to be raised during that era. Angelia gave an outstanding perfomance and brought tears to my eyes. What greater loss could any woman experience than to lose her child? I would seriously reccommend this film to all.

Angelina Was Believable In The Role - She "looked"

Angelina was believable in the role - she "looked" like a 1928 era woman did - right down to the bright red lipstick my mother used to wear. Her acting was great. Period pieces and costumes were fabulous. No 'drag' moments - story was engaging all the time. The story didn't precisely follow the true story. Why not? The 'real deal' was more interesting.......... Read it on the internet! Recommended. I give it 8 out of 10 stars!

Based On Events That Actually Happened, "changelin

Based on events that actually happened, "Changeling" is the latest from director Clint Eastwood and it proves just how good he is. It is 1928 Los Angeles and Angelina Jolie plays a mother who's ten year old son goes missing. The police are at first reluctant to do anything but five months later they tell her they have found her son. Problem is, it's not her son and when Jolie won't shut up about her still missing son the police feel they must take steps to keep her quiet. John Malkovich plays the minister of a large church downtown that does a weekly radio broadcast about the corruption within the city and the police department in particular, so he takes up Jolie's cause. Within this story there is another going on that could lead to finding the missing boy but Jeffrey Donovan, the head of the Children's Bureau within the corrupt police department, just wants it all to go away and will do whatever it takes to make that happen. This movie has a great cast, a good story and an excellent director to put it all together. A must see film.
