From a traveller's point of view this airport is dire. We had hired a car from Hertz for a short break in the lovely Province. After EasyJet moved from Belfast International - which is a good airport - City airport is a let down. It is hard to get to and from by car even outside rush hour. Road signage is non-existent until you are within two and a half miles and then when you do get there and go through departures the hand baggage check is slow with long queues and few staff. Then we went into the air side area. The place was being painted from step ladders with sitting passengers below - and this at 7pm, there is no working air conditioning, the available food is of poor quality and with little choice and it is very expensive (~£8 for beef stew), tables only slowly cleared and wiped (only one such person seen in two hours), chairs very uncomfortable and can you believe set so that when trying to look out of the window at arriving and departing planes a big horizontal bar between the panes of glass hides this from view. Who designed this dreadful place?. The shopping is nothing but a rip off (cheapest ball point pen £1.98) and of very limited selection. There are few flight information displays with several areas not even able to see them. Of course the displays (like at most airports these days so we cannot blame this on City) give no information about the causes of delays - you have to wait until on the plane to get that information from the pilot - but the worst is that when your flight is finally called you go downstairs to a gate area where there are no seats and everyone - even the infirm - have to stand in an unventilated let alone un-airconditioned space for half an hour or more before being able to get on board ones's plane. All this whilst a few young airport staff CAN (and do) sit down and chat even with the external door open to allow them some air. I never thought anywhere could be worse than Luton but folks this is it. The place is dire. Best service experienced on the day? The Hertz representative. He was pleasant and courteous.

Belfast City Airport (Or Belfast George Best City Airport) as its now called is a small airport in the east of the city.

The airports best selling points are that its very close to the city centre, just a few mins in a cab and that its small. However there are limited routes from the airport mainly to the rest of the UK and nothing really other than the odd charter flight to Europe.

The other airport that serves Belfast International airport. Its much larger, and has flights to Europe and North America. However its miles form Belfast.

Once you get past the security point the hold lounge area, has a cafe/bar and two other shops. So not a lot to do if you are delayed.

I do not like Belfast City airport as the facilities are very poor. I would much rather fly out from Belfast Aldergrove airport even if the flight costs twice as much!!! Very poor facilities and the're not many flights. A lot of the flights are business flights.
