“Dreadful Build, Worse Customer Care”

Moved in Feb 2017 & still waiting for our initial inspection snagging list to be completed. 10 day and 6 month lists might as well be written on a fag packet as they don't seem to have intention on completing those. All defects are our fault apparently and even sent us a leaflet advising us how to deal with mould - the mould that came from them not sealing above a window and them fitting a faulty extractor unit. Whilst we are down-sizing for retirement purposes, we have received nothing but pleasant and helpful feedback from Bloors site reps. We were able to choose our preferred house type and plot at the start of site works at Tewkesbury Meadows. Whilst staff attitudes to their customers may inevitably vary, I fear that some buyers are too critical of people doing their jobs in stressful circumstances. “Bloor Homes don`t fix repairs”

I purchased a show house from Bloor. On numerous occasions, while visiting the house Bloor sales staff walked around the house with us, confirming all the faults would be put right prior to moving in. If not done, add to snag list and they will be completed. Utter rubbish, now they`re saying the house was sold as seen and they will only repair build faults, even though I`m reporting build faults to them, they are saying they aren`t build faults because they don`t want to repair… Read Full Review

“BLOOR'S PRESSURE SELLING”

My experience of Bloor Homes ref their constant pressure to sign contracts is very poor. They clearly put targets before customer service. Also their prices for upgrades such as external taps, power to garages are exorbitant and unjustifiable. Their proposal to power the garage from a socket rather than the switchboard whilst not illegal is very poor practice and would be done only as a last resort by a competent electrician. “Stressful, Intimidating and Risky”

My experience so far with Bloor Homes has been very stressful. I put a reservation down on a property, which was then stated needed 28 days for completion. I stressed from the initial meeting that my buyer is going away for a month and wanted to complete a month later but was prepared to sign contracts before going away. I experienced almost identical circumstances, although my reservation fee was £1,000 with the potential to lose both that and the house. I had a brilliant solicitor and estate agent, who both assured me these were just tactics used to try to push the sale through as quickly as possible and that they realised it would take longer than 28 days. It actually took 2 months in my case, but I was told that they were very unlikely to carry out their threats. It's not good for customer relations and like you, I suffered extreme stress and anxiety. But here I am in my new home which I love. I've been here for 3 months and thought my problems would be at an end. But now I'm faced with a new set of problems which the sales team etc. are constantly assuring me will be sorted, but the biggest one is still unresolved and so is the stress and anxiety. I'm now seeking help once more from my solicitor who did the conveyancing. Good luck.

Hi there.

We are currently going through the exact same situation as you have described. I can’t believe this is how they operate. We have had our exchange date which is the 02/12/17, today, extended to Tuesday 05/12/17. And been told that if we have not exchanged by then the house will be back on the market as they believe they will have another buyer complete before the end of the year!? We have a mortgage in place, a confirmed cash buyer of our house. And they are still threatening to cancel the sale. If it were not that we love the house and it’s location we would absolutely call off the purchase ourselves. It is disgusting that they think they can and do treat people this way. I hope you managed to sort your purchase in the end.

I bought a Bloor home 18 months ago on the Gatewen Village site in Wrexham. I couldn't be happier with our house. Yes we had a few issues/snags at the beginning but Bloor didn't hesitate to put these right. Anything I wasn't happy with they recified. “Unethical and Money hungry”

Reading some of the reviews on the forum I can share my experience. I recently a month ago viewed a floor plan and agreed to buy a property, however, I was told there is a waiting list of 12-13 buyers and some of them are ready with cash, despite this I was put on the list. When I asked about the buyer selection criteria the lady told me they will prefer cash buyers !! “Houses are worst I seen on 20 sites or more”

We have lived in our bloor home for 18 months. It has taken us this long to realise that all they do is put you to the bottom of the pile when you have an issue. We have always tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and even got our local MP involved over a year ago to solve some issues which were on our 10 day list. The house is everything we could have ever wanted and more, yes there are snags but these are being dealt with way beyond our expectations. Sounds like you got a lot of incentives to me. I used bloors solicitor and financial advisor and to be honest they weren't great but I feel the deal I got superseded having to play by their rules.

Hello Everybody,
seems we have a similar situation at the moment at SAXON Gate Crewe - even using their recommended parties they are sticking on THEIR speak outs and time limes even we have a clear proof about Time and Date. Requests for call back are not going to be followed up and even we try to speak to the management, it seems they simple don't care - we feel like a supplier instead a customer at the moment.
Are they aware that WE are going to pay their salary!

Speaking about Customer service - which one!!

Purchase price in excess of £250,000 with proposed extras. Part exchange values agreed in principle and financial assessment verified monies in place to proceed. As everybody has said, dealing with Bloor is the best way to increase your stress levels. They demand everything their own way - dictating all the terms including forcing us to use their choice of solicitor. Of course, being THEIR solicitor they do not represent the buyers, just Bloor.
