“Good hotel handy to centre”

★★★★★

written by PeteCampbo on 27/08/2013

We had a very enjoyable stay at Bath Waterside. Close enough to town centre (short walk along riverbank) but no noise from pubs etc that you would get in the centre of town. Clean and good price, very comfortable and friendly staff.

“this is a very good hotel the price is good as i have...”

this is a very good hotel the price is good as i have been coming to Bath for 9 years and have stayed in many hotels in Bath and the area is expensive anyway so people need to realise what a good deal you get when you stay in a place like this, i stayed 5 nights this included the weekend i paid £420 and let me tell you this is very good for the area (people need to do their research before going to an area like bath) i had a very good stay here and will go back again very soon, all staff were helpful and polite and i had the pleasure of meeting Dave the hotel manager and Will the assistant manager as they were walking round the hotel working and of all the hotels i have stayed in the 2 managers were very professional, polite and for 2 managers that are working for a "budget hotel chain" they were very enthusiastic about their hotel and the Travelodge, it makes me laugh seeing some of the reviews as if it was the hotel managers that make the decisions on what happens at the individual hotels they are clearly working to sell a brand and things like not being able to keep luggage, charges for car parking, fees for late checkouts these thing are out of the individual hotels control, i have and will continue to recommend this hotel to my friends and family, well done Bath Waterside.

What an awful place. I wouldn't even give it any stars. The receptionist was uncaring and rude and the General manager would not accept any responsibility for the state of the hotel.....which was smelly, dirty and unfriendly....dirty toilet, hair in plughole, marks on walls, vomit on carpet, dirty curtains, litter outside the bedroom....in fact it was all totally run down....how embarrassing to think that foreign visitors would probably have stayed there. I paid £146.40 for two nights(no breakfast...wouldn't eat there because I was worried about food poisoning)When I complained to the General Manager he didn't even apologise. Totally disgusted. (Unfortunately my e-mail was rejected because I have to give it some stars. Had to fill in one or else my views would not be heard. What a set up! Certainly does not deserve any stars whatsoever.)

Shocking...this is the only word I can describe this glorified shambles of a hostel. We were met by a very rude receptionist who couldnt give a monkeys about anyone. The Travelodge Bath Waterside was dirty and below basic. We stayed for two nights and it cost us just under £200!The bath water temperature wouldnt go above 20 degrees so we spoke to the rude receptionist who said that was the temperature for the whole hotel and he couldnt help us and he only works here! The walls are paper thin and this it was nice to be woken up to the sound of a 1970's hoover outside the room at 7am! I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.Dont put yourself through the experience I had.Sleep rough for the night - it will be a more pleasant experience.

“The rooms at Travelodge Bath Waterside were welcoming....”

The rooms at Travelodge Bath Waterside were welcoming. Staff were friendly and polite Not a bad hotel but need hoovering more often, as the dust could cause problems with someone who is asthmatic. That we had to pay £10 for late checkout baring in mind that we had a 7 month old baby with us and we had to take our luggage everywhere because our train was not until 1600hrs The rooms are not hoovered under the bed as we found out when we moved the bed against the wall so baby would not fall onto the floor

“The only good point was checking out and not having to...”

The only good point was checking out and not having to return. They refused to store luggage for any period of time in the Waterside Travelodge. I arrived early and they wanted me to pay an extra £10 to check in my luggage. Check out was midday but my train was at 3pm. Again, they charge a £10 late checkout fee because they refuse to store your luggage like any other considerate, professional and customer friendly hotel. I spent 2 nights at the Bath Waterside Travelodge and it cost me £174. The place is shabby, outdated and verging on filthy. Staff couldn't care less and displayed the attitude of a moody teenager who has been grounded.
