“Buyer beware!”

I ordered two sets of shutters and four white roller blinds. The blinds were to replace existing ones fitted by Hillary's some years ago. The design consultant failed to inform me that the law now requires that I have child-safety catches, and I was horrified to find that the surveyor had screwed them to the walls, without permission, and with short cords we find hard to move. “Deceitful and Unhelpful”

Attitude goes a long way to keep customers. Reviews aren't good. In many cases customers have been subject to reps/fitters not turning up for booked appointments, wrong information supplied by the services team (blatant misinformation), customers themselves being blamed for ill-fitting blinds/shutters, the phone put down on my husband tops it all. “Hilarys are disgraceful ”

We have large windows and wanted large blinds. Hilarys supplied these but they had creases in them. They swapped them over for new ones but suggested we have 2 blinds per window to avoid the creasing. They did this but this left a gap in the middle so our privacy was compromised. Within 7 days they started ‘cupping’ which meant an even larger gap in the middle of the blinds. They re ordered again saying they should of been cut at an angle off the roll so we had a third set. My son had roman blinds and curtains fitted with hillarys 2 years ago of which i paid over a £1000 for. I telephoned customer services this morning for a service call as there is a problem with one of the blinds and because the accounts was in my sons girlfriends name they would not deal with me. She no longer lives with him or owns the house which i explained to them. I even offered to pay for the service engineer to come out but they said no. I’ve left messages for our installer to ring me back but there is just no response. I’ve just spoken to their customer service centre and explained that I have a funeral to attend at 1pm today and have to leave the house by 12 ( our fitting is booked for between 9-12 this morning.), I wanted to ask if the fitter could make sure he’s finished by 12 or to re-arrange. Hillarys are one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. We arranged for a representative to come to measure And give us a quote for blinds for our house. The first appointment was cancelled on the day, no explanation given. The second appointment they were to phone us and meet at our new house. Nobody came at all. Didn't turn up for the appointment. Agent said they were outside the shop next to my flat. When I went down to let them in they weren't there. I called and they kept lying and saying they were 5 minutes away. I waited outside for 40 minutes. Had a white blind fitted 5 months ago the bottom 6 inches has turned brown. Just want to warn potential customers that this is considered normal and acceptable to the customer service team at Hillarys. They even admit it’s the tape they use that causes the problem but apparently it’s not a fault they want to rectify. “Over three month wait!”

Ordered motorized blinds at a considerable cost and when they came one was without a motor and the others the fitter didn’t know how to operate! Over three months later a new motorized replacement finally arrived and the fitter with proper instructions on how to set up. Summer has been and gone without blinds! that said on the site or probably fake managed reviews , I had booked a appointment for blinds for my two bedroom flat as am renovating it , my slot was today from 6 -9 pm and I get call at 5.45 from the so called advisor MR courtnage while I was in a clinical session with a patient to bring the appointment forward , and when told its for 9-10 blinds he said wont be able to do it as we wanted to finish by 6.45 to attend a birthday .So don't believe when they say they will whole range of variety… Read Full Review

Count yourself lucky, you got away. I spent £1250 with them and had pure misery ever since and them refusing to do anything about it. Shocking awful company!!

We chose a sample from patterns shown on Hillary's website. The rep arrived after the appointment time - not a good start. After he had measured up, he informed us that the design we had chosen was no longer available. We were somewhat pressured to select a different design and paid £100 up front for the single blind that we wanted. We were given a fitting date a month afterwards. We had some blinds fitted by Hillary’s. We went with them over a local supplier as we thought they would be more reputable. The blinds were measured but fitted inaccurately. We have only just spotted the bodge job of our kitchen fitting when needing to take the blinds down for tiling. Held on to fit by lots of washers!!! The person I dealt with  from Hillary's measured for 2 blackout roller blinds. 1 measuring 139cm wide x 105 cm long and 1 measuring 88cm wide x 100 long. The price he said included 3 replacement chains at £15 for existing blinds I had, and he showed me his workings out. The total of £306 he said included a 50% discount.
