we purchased an off the shelf Oakmont kitchen in Sept 2017. Firstly we had issues with the delivery, where half of the order did not show up. When we contacted the customer service helpline they were very unhelpful and said it would turn up but could not give any dates or times or explanation. We eventually received the rest of the order after having to travel to various stores to find the missing items. “Appalling”

We had our £14,000 kitchen fitting completed on 20 June 2018. We are still awaiting templating for the worktop (which Wickes cannot explain why it is costing us £480 to change the pattern rather than the expected £100). They then attempted to fine us for a templating callout that we were not informed was happening - we were out at the time. “Poor bulk delivery service.”

Poor bulk delivery service. Only sent one person, no lifting equipment. Driver unable to lift concrete post off the truck, so unable to deliver to the kerbside, drive or inside a gate. A couple of years ago we had spoken to someone who did a home visit and we also went in-store to get the quote – our reason for not proceeding was down to the fact that he came across as patronising and rude. My design consultant (Wickes Shrewsbury) was helpful when designing and signing me up for my kitchen. Kitchen arrived on time, which was probably the only smooth part concerning Wickes. I decided to get the kitchen fitted by my builder rather than Wickes fitters, and am I glad I did, as I dread to think what the kitchen would have looked like otherwise! “Terrible Customer Service”

We ordered a totally new kitchen in Tiverton Bone with oak work tops and various appliances costing a lot of money in January 2016, it was fitted in April 2016. No problem with fitting, we were very pleased with the fitter and quality of his work, but in December 2017 we noticed marks and cracks in the wood on some of the doors. We are having a bizzare experience.. We are trying to exchange (or even return, if that fails) a cupboard and doors from our Wicks kitchen (i wrong size) Our store insists that the kitchen, although made up from regular pieces from the catalogue, is 'bespoke' and therefore we have to keep the unwanted pieces and buy new ones. We rang the number on the Wicks site where they proudly offer to exchange kitchen units or accept return of unwanted elements only to be told they cant help as each store has it's own policy. Today we look into this bewildering scenario, with a view to legal action if no joy. I may add we were also in receipt of inaccurate and hugely inflated invoice (now corrected) and an initial design that covered the light switch . So unprofessional, careless and unpleasant. Such a disappointment as we like the kitchen itself. Cant recommend.

We know the feeling!!! Our replacement doors .... including one sent the wrong size!! were finally fitted 10th September.
We have requested compensation and were told that because it was out of warranty they would offer us compensation!!!
Bearing in mind the warranty ran out in April and this was reported in January we are not happy.
To date, we have been offered £75 to basically stop us from taking any further action. This doesn't even cover the costs of our telephone calls, waiting in for deliveries not received and numerous hours/days chasing. All I can say is "rubbish"!!!

Simply the worst customer experience I have ever had. Completely inept from start to finish for a very simple kitchen installation that should have taken a week and promised by Christmas but instead took over 130 days. The sink had changed between order and fitting and so the worktop didn't match the sink. “shocking fitters”

I left these fitters for a week to get on with a total kitchen refit. they did well for 3 days then doors where damaged and wrong sized doors sent . rubbish was left under the draws and never swept by the work men I know this because I went to turn the stop tap of and found all the mess under the draws. wicks gave me a £60 cheque for all the trouble we had which was nice. now for the real problem that has not been solved which is a dint on a cupboard door and after 5 weeks of waiting to get… Read Full Review

“Unexpected Flatpack Kitchen”

With a choice of suppliers including B&Q, Homebase, Ikea and others offering cheaper flatpack alternatives to factory assembled cabinets at higher prices we made the false assumption that the higher priced Wickes Kitchens with their lifetime guarantee were preassembled. BUT they are all flatpack so should have bought the cheaper Howdens ready built cabinets! Why are people so obsessed with 'flatpack' kitchens not being as good as rigid? It is not so difficult to understand that every kitchen is 'flatpack' at some time in its life! Better to have a competent joiner assemble it in the room it is being fitted in, so he can adjust here necessary (and have room to work) than send out pre-built, risking transportation damage. Better to concentrate on the important issues such as quality of fittings and density of carcase material. A decent quality kitchen is too heavy to send out flat, as the units weigh so much more as they are made of high density chipboard rather than 'weetabix' carcases. Get your priorities right! PS no, I don't work for Wickes!

All they had to do was fit the kitchen we had taken old kitchen out. Two weeks they said eleven weeks later the kitchen was in. Four handles falling off, rough Sawn wood on display so now expanded due to water, wonky units, Boeing shelved, badly cut skirting so warped, over door hits unit by the side, doors have big gaps, units not level, wobbly unit, damaged unit where they put the corner shelving unit in wrong unit but left it. What a complete joke Wickes are, my son and his wife ordered a kitchen in early Ferbruary, and delivery was arranged for March 2nd. On that basis my son booked a professional kitchen installer to start work on Monday 12th March. “Worst Decision Ever.”

Wickes state that “Our approved installers are experts at bringing dream kitchens to life and will take care of all the details. So all you need to do is sit back, relax and watch everything take shape”. Our experience (Wickes Southampton Extra) was the total opposite with an estimated two to three week installation taking three months to complete. We had a kitchen fitted by Wickes 18 months ago and 4 months ago the cupboards fell off from the wall. It took a month before anyone came to asess the damage after several calls and only after I posted photos on twitter. When they came they offered no apology and showed no concern. Now they are claiming that someone else fitted the lights on our cabinets and they are not responsible. Wren were pushy and had heard too many horror stories but was recommended Wickes by a friend. Wickes have a great showroom and lots of choice, we loved the Tiverton Bone.
