“Track day disappointment ”

Written on: 23/10/2016 by Speedfreek (1 review written)

My Son and I purchased a track day from 6thgear at Castle coobe circuit which we went on 21October 2016 . We were really up for on the day as the weather was fantastic , but that was about all that was . We were to be there at 08:45 to be ready for our first drive to be at 09:30 . We were heavily pressurised into taking out insurance at a cost of £25:00 each as the guy at the desk stressed that there was in excess of 20 cars out on the track and the risk of damage was far higher for which we… Read Full Review

“Insurance Waiver”

Written on: 13/05/2015

Very disappointed after receiving this experience as a gift to be sold waiver insurance, this should all be included !!, this clearly seems a way to make £25 extra from the drivers Having said this the experience once in the cars is excellent, the organisation before hand could be better to make a good experience even better. again once you do get in to the demo drive and you find out what needs to be done then all runs well The staff need to realise that many people have not done this… Read Full Review

“Single Supercar Blast”

Written on: 01/12/2014

I was disappointed with this event as there were 2 others who went with me. You are given a demo run in a car driven by an instructor around the track and then you get to drive 2 laps with an instructor in your chosen car.It would be better if you can drive round the track with an instructor just to get a feel for the car and track followed by 3 laps not 2 this is not enough. Also I disagree with their "No Spin Rule" which states that if your car goes into a spin your session is automatically… Read Full Review

“Supercar Passenger Experience, Elvington, York”

Written on: 20/07/2014 by BattyHybrid (1 review written)

19/7/14. LIKED. The booking procedures and staff were excellent, and easy. Booking in on the day was fairly straight forward for all three of us for different cars. We all enjoyed our experience and the drivers were all excellent, professional and friendly. Got lucky with the weather ;-) DISLIKES: We all booked in at the same time and were given track times the same for our 4 laps. Unfortunately we all went out at different times which was very disappointing. One which was over an hour later… Read Full Review

“more time in super cars ”

Written on: 17/09/2013

although the cars were excellent to drive, not worth the money , is all over in a blink of a eye ,no sooner you get in and try to get used to the car and circuit , is all over, dissapointed to say the least ,approx 6 mins or less in car ,you get a certificate at the end ,needless to say i did,nt stop for it ,2 hrs drive to get there and 6 mins of driving the car mmmmmmm sorry about the moaning but just not worth it in my eyes ,,i think you need more time in the car 15-20 mins at least to enjoy it… Read Full Review

“Rules and money”

Written on: 01/07/2013

I really enjoyed driving the truck although it was all over so quick. The instructor was very friendly. What spoilt it all was from the moment I telephoned all I heard was" You can' t do this and you can't do that" . The experience should start from the moment you ring to book your day and time. Also I felt bullied into taking out the collision damage waiver insurance. My son who came with me heard a man complain that he did not have his super car experience because something was wrong with the… Read Full Review

“a little dissapointed”

Written on: 24/05/2013 by enzo01 (1 review written)

went to long cross proving ground today was really geared up for a drive of my life in the Gallardo and I was so disappointed with the fact that I wasn't allowed to go any faster than 80kmh due to the way the track was set up so in my opinion it was not a super car blast . The reason for rating 3 stars was down to the instructor he was very precise in telling me where and what to do thank you… Read Full Review

“Bruntingthorpe Ariel Atom Thrill.....?”

Written on: 08/04/2013 by CaptainDreadnought (2 reviews written)

I was lucky enough to receive this experience as a freebie from my bank!! But it wasn't exactly free because I paid £20 for cancellation insurance and another obligatory £25 CDW on the day. Driving the Atom was a blast! Loads of fun and a helpful instructor keeping me on target all the way round the three laps. So - a good day out? In some ways, no. First, because the Atom didn't appear to be the hooligan I'd expected. Yes, I did floor the throttle on every possible occasion and it did… Read Full Review

“Rough old Aston”

Written on: 23/03/2013 by Maverick53 (1 review written)

Staff very friendly but when I started to drive the Aston Martin DB9 as a professional motor engineer the paddle gearbox was badley worn and juddered at slow speed at 60-70mph the engine was rough I could hear what sounded like a blowing manifold .As you book in its pressure pressure to buy extra insurance Photos etc If your looking for a dream experience over and above a ten year old citreon save your money .Not to mention Virgin who it was booked with got confused and thought the voucher had… Read Full Review

“expensive short lived fun”

Written on: 17/06/2012

I was bought a lamborghini experience by my girlfriend who got it through M7S experiences and opted to go for the Bruntingthrope track. Upon arrival it became clear that there was nothing personal about this as there was always 20-40 drivers waiting for their turn and about 4 drivers on the track at any time. I was taken around the track in a Range Rover Sport with 2 other people in order to look at the corners etc. I then had to wait for my turn in the Lambo. By this time it had started to… Read Full Review

“Could have been better with little effort”

Written on: 30/08/2011 by Phil35 (1 review written)

Went to the experience in Kennilworth. Overall it was good ...but could have been so much better. The weather was atrocious, with heavy rain. I first went in an Lambourginin Gallardo. The car was steamed up very, very badly that I could not see out of the screen. The driving seat was malfunctioning (buttons damaged and missing) so that i was reclined in a 'sleeping position'! the instuctor was rubbish! not interested in introducing himself or helping. So we embarked on the track and his… Read Full Review

“Maybe its just me but my 3 car experience at the 6th...”

Written on: 24/05/2011

Maybe its just me but my 3 car experience at the 6th Gear Prodrive Test Facility, Kenilworth was a bit lame - its a "quick in quick out" event - track is full of slow bends & limited straights - get stuck behind someone and your three laps are over - everyone was pleasant but I arrived at 8.45am and was on my way home by 10am - maybe better at a proper racing track - certainly my single seater day at Brands Hatch was so much better… Read Full Review

“i just felt the experience was a little rushed, also...”

Written on: 10/04/2011

i just felt the experience was a little rushed, also on the day prices like insurance at £25, incar footage at £35 and a 12x8 photo at £25 were all a little excessive. The only real positive was how helpfull and freindly the instructor was. The organiseation was so bad i even left the track forgetting to have my 1 lap with the instructor in the high performance saloon car… Read Full Review

“I wrote a review regarding my experience with Sixth...”

Written on: 31/01/2011

I wrote a review regarding my experience with Sixth Gear on 24 January 2011. I have since found out that Sixth Gear were not at fault but a company called Giftdays who sold me the voucher. I want to apologise for blaming Sixth Gear as I now know they had nothing to do with the sale of this voucher. As a matter of fact I've attended two driving experiences with Sixth Gear and they are really good - would recommend them. Sorry to Sixth Gear!!… Read Full Review
