Used the jet wash quite a few times, very satisfactory. One question though, how do you use the rotary brush without being on your hands and knees ?If you hold it normally it doesnt lie flat on the surface you are trying to clean.

I brought this pressure washer last year and maybe used it twice before storing it for the winter . I recently got it out to clean the car and it's gone to the dogs there is a leak in the metal pipe line not good when using an extension cord . Unfixable The attachment are not easily removable in fact they are near impossible to remove at all. Please don't waste your money .

The only downside to these is, try and get hold of the company when it needs repairing, I asked Homebase, then the RAC who directed me to Hilka, phoned their number loads of time, and got through eventually, was told as it was not under guarantee it would be better to buy a new one, and find a repairer in the Yellow pages.

written by on 28/03/2011

Purchased the RAC-HP04 in February 2010, used about 6 times before storing in November over winter (Frost Free). Removed from storage March 2011, connected water hose & water continually dumped from internal valve beside of motor. Having no success in stoping the flow of water I contacted the help line stated in the user manual (Hilka 02083916767) a complete waste of time. They informed me that they do not supply internal parts or recommend a suitable repairer. When asked why they would not or could not recommend a repairer, their reply was that if the repairer failed to make any satisfactory repair, then Hilka could be held responsible. They did give me an RAC number to phone but this was a premium number (£1.00 per min) & not wanting to spend this amount of money on a phone call I tried the internet.

I then looked on the RAC site to find out if anyone would be able to help, sadly I could only find the RAC accessory shop (No Telephone number just an e-mail enquiry address. Used this address, stated the problem & asked for a contact number to enable me to speak with someone. I then recieved an e-mail from Hilka (The same person that I had spoken with in the first place) asking me to contact them as they had received my enquiry from RAC.

I have now spoken with Hilka again (The same person as before) who advised me to purchase another pressure washer.

I will certainly purchase another washer but not one associated with RAC or Hilka. I wish I had looked at the reviews prior to purchase, it would have saved me a lot of time & money. I would not have given this product any stars for value for money or for an overall rating unfortunately you have to give at least the minimum one.

My advise to any one is AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Looking to get a replacement washer. I had got one of these a while back.Argos, cheap but a complete waste of money. It kept tipping over because the hose daftly is mounted on top of what is already a top heavy machine. Fortunately for me it broke down at the 2nd attempt while the receipt was still in my wallet. Needless to say I took it right back.
I bought a Lidl Lavor, which is another waste of money. It has a hose on a reel which has a handle to reel the hose in. The hose is not exactly a piece of wire. The cleaning ability is useless, but it is still working. Waiting for it to break down so I can bin it.

Bought the 1850 watt model from Homebase. It had been reduced £20 and there was a further 15% off. I previously owned a more exspensive washer and find this model to be very good. the pressure was strong enough to clean concrete and block paving and it comes with a good range of attachments for cleaning the car. Good value and does what it says.

Used this for the first time today. The machine started to leak water from inside of it, obviously not a good thing to combine with an electric motor. Basically it is a disgrace that a product that can obviously cause serious harm is sold in this state. I would not recommend that any one buys this product unless they have a death wish.

Bought this Rac pressure washer from homebase, used it three times, on the third occasion the motor failed, and emitted black smoke.
Failed just out of warranty. I will be persuing Homebase or Rac for a good will refund.
DONT BUY ONE OF THESE.

Bought the item from Homebase thought give it a go. It works absolutely genius. Clean driveway and garden without any problem. Water pressure is fantastic. My driveway and back garden is spotless. Pressure washer is cheap and affordable. Good value of money.

Peoples who are complaining should read the instruction properly and use it as it says. You won't be disappointed.

Bought in April 09, out of warranty by a week, used a couple of times last year, and then again yesterday to clean patio furniture. Spray stopped, and smell of burning, smoke out of vents. Less than 10 hours use in total.
Hoping that Argos will accept that it is not fit for purpose.

Only had it a short time.used on two occasions, once for car then patio and both times did a fine job. Second time it was used to clean off garden furniture and large wooded deck and it worked just fine. No complaints from me, as it is much more powerful than a previous larger machine which cost three times as much as this one..Long may it continue and seeing as i have a 3 year guarantee i'm not to bothered..

Used it twice .Started it up last week worked for five minutes and wont work again.Owned from new for thirteen months so out of guarantee. Spoke to makers who offered to provide parts if we could find out what the problem was.As this would mean forking out more money we feel we would be throwing good money after bad so this is an experience we do not want to repeat. We would not recommend this product to anybody as we do not think that it is fit for its purpose.

A complete waste of money, after 10 mins of use took it straight back to Homebase for refund. The body is poorly fitted and prevented hose connection from being screwed in, the jet is very weak, despite 1850 watt power. May look good, but very poor quality manufacture, cheap components and a great embarassment for RAC who put their name to this - they shoud stick to vehicle breakdown, unless they want to start repairing power washers.

Bought this RAC 1850 Watt Pressure Washer today from B&Q. Fired it up for the first time and it ran well although a little noisy for about 3 minutes then refused to start again.

Fiddled about with it for 5 minutes and it decided to run again - 2 minutes this time! I will be taking it back tomorrow lets hope the replacement fares better.

It would be a good machine for the money if reliable, which it isn't.

I have had my pressure washer for about three years and it has rarely been used. When I came to use it this year after about 30 mins the connection hose came off and on inspection I discovered that the thread on the connection point had broken. Is there anywhere in the UK that can supply this part?
