Son Bou, Aparthotel HG Jardin de Menorca

Just had 7 nights here on half board,Sept 2011.

Hotel is an aparthotel with lovely big rooms including sitting area,balcony and small kitchenette.

Rooms and hotel were kept beautifully clean and so was the rest of the hotel.Reception staff were pleasant but dining room staff were not very efficient due to there not being many of them.This included clearing tables and drinks orders.Food was average with not much selection,especially at night when hot dishes and desserts were never replenished,so, if you didnt get there early there was hardly anything left.This is poor for a 4 star hotel.

Grounds and pool were well kept,entertainment was dire and it was difficult to find bar staff at night to serve drinks sometimes.Drinks were overpriced.

Location was out of the resort,a good 20 mins walk to beach and shops,although a courtesy bus ran until 7pm.At night it wasnt a pleasant walk into town and if we came back after 11pm the hotel was deserted.

The lightin at nigh round the grounds was poor as well as in the apartment block corridors.You had to be careful as there were many steps and raised door freames coming out of main hotel and apartments.

The resort was very quiet for the middle of Sept and due to lack of trade a few businesses were closing early.

The beach is one of the best on the island but on our next visit we will probably stay in a different hotel or resort.
