Blacks Serpens

We bought our Serpens at then end of 2008 when on sale so had to wait until the following spring before we could use it for the first time. Found it really easy to put up with two people, but wouldn't like to try it on my own. The colour coded poles make it really simple. It's a four berth tent, but there are just the two of us using it, so it has ample space - we have just spent two weeks in France in it and didn't have any space issues with all the extra clothing, books and equipment we took over and above what would be needed for a weekend away. Not sure it would be so comfortable with a family of four though!

The Only criticism I would make is that the main groundsheet isn't built in so it can get a bit draughty when there's a strong breeze and it's a little too easy for bugs/ants to get in.

The LED lights that it comes with are useful, but not really bright enough for the main area, but really great in the smaller bedroom space.

The bedrooms are a good size, and there are no problems with restricted space when using an air mattress as with some other tents.

All in all, a really good first tent for a couple who want a bit of space for when the weather isn't good enough to sit outdoors!
