I experimented with Draytel for some time. When TalkTalk Business refused to move my domestic number to SIP to be on the same system as my business numbers I tried to get the number ported to Draytel. The guy there was helpful, but TT would not allow the port. A year later I retied and ported it over. Good quality calls, easy setup on my sip server and an added plus is that you can divert your call to another number if need be. The website is poor and you can find yourself going round the same loop while looking for more info on Business rates etc. But call them up and they are reasonably helpful. At the moment my sip service with TalkTalkBusiness has got major problems but with Draytel it works perfectly. Recommended.

I have used Draytel for many years. Voice quality is generally quite good and steadily getting better. But the website beggars belief. It is unclear, very slow (tested on several occasions), does not accept new information (eg new address details) and worst of all does not accept payment. How can you run a service where you do not get off the starting blocks guys?

This is not a business class product as we are still a month in and they are yet to deliver it without faults!!! Its dreadful as they keep trying to put us through some long winded process of not fixing the system and not closing the contract. STAY AWAY go use someone else who dont put you through the ringer!! The absolutel nightmare is not worth the money

we had transfered our numbers to draytel, the biggest mistake we have done.. The website does not have any address for them, they will try and stich you for min 6 months contract even thou the first 6 months are over. the call quality id poor, and when you have reached your max lines for incoming calls, the next caller when dialing you will get a dead tone rather than a engaged tone. I would say if you are a buisness pay the extra and go to uniworld or Gamma, very profesional

OK I am setting up a new business from home and wanted a new number for people to call without a huge cost. I looked at various providers and read the reviews here and I went for Draytel. That was an hour ago, in that time I did call sales and they were good, quick and helpful. I now have a number that is forwarded to my mobile - dead easy, so easy. I have not set up my VOIP phone yet but I will come back to you on that.
As other people say go for Silver level by putting in £20 Credit you get a free inbound number, voice mail then and no monthly line line costs.
I know I have given 5*'s but so far so good.

Excellent service, very good value pay as you go. Not had any hassle or dropouts, have been using Draytel for 2 years now.

The biggest problem by far is the sign up procedure that asks you to provide copies of utility bills or bank statements. In an age when most of these are sent electronically and where paper statements are used for identify theft the whole process is very annoying and archaic. This could be easily rectified by having a more intelligent payment processing system, that for example used verified by via, Paypal with certified addresses etc etc. A Paypal payment system to avoid providing yet another company with my card details would be welcome. It is difficult to find an email address or even a form to ask questions prior to sign up. The free geo-number is a nice add-on, and the option appears when you make the first GBP10 credit.
As for call setup and quality it does what it says on the tin.
All in all good technically, but the business process and customer interface needs to be brought up to date.

I've had mine for thee years now - excellent
needs the control box switching on and off to reset it, once a month, if it is kept on 24/7
works out very cheap and you get a proper number that can be called from normal phones

Recently signed up to DrayTEL after using Voipfone for several years. The only reason for the swap was that I wanted a geographic number option which Voipfone didn't offer.
Signing up to DrayTEL for easy enough, but unfortunately their tech support is a disgrace.
I had some issues with their SIP registration process, and I wrote to tech support asking for help. I had no answer so I had to work it out on my own.
It's taken them over a week since they started charging me for the geographic number and it is still not working. I have written to tech support more than once, but of course: no reply at all.
I have therefore decided to move to another supplier.

Draytel offer a great service, but I'd not recommend them to business users until they sort out their website. They used to operate an online invoicing system. Sadly they are currently not offering proper VAT invoices. This leaves one having to pay the VAT they charge, but not being able to claim it back from the tax man.

I have used Draytel now for four years and have no hesitation in recommending them. The service has never failed, and the tariff is competitive.
All you have to do to get the lower 'silver' tariff is top up the account with £20 of credit. It does not matter if you subsequently drop below this level.
With the silver service you also get voicemail and group calling services for free.

Have used Draytel for years, the local number that you receive when you buy £20 of credit is especially good and is my standard Fax / VOIP phone number as the Fax is twinned with the VOIP phone. Also people find it easier and more acceptable to dial a standard UK landline number as they know they aren't getting ripped off.

I have been using Draytel for years now. This is the best Pay As You Go Voip provider I have come across. I would highly recommend them. I have Draytel setup for my friends around the world also. The technical service is excellent, normally reply well within 24HRS. I have used Draytel with various different hardwares including Linksys PAP2 and Draytek Vigor 2820VN.

By far the best VoIP provider I have used. The features alone mark them out from the crowd and the support is excellent. Multi-Device Calling means I can have 3 phones 100 miles apart operate as a single line, so I rarely miss a call. In addition Draytel do not block calls to other SIP networks or through SipBroker, so their subscribers gain the full value of the free, non-PSTN side of the service.

Just ported two more SIP addresses to Draytel VOIP after DEMON withdrew services on Oct 1 2009. Draytel voice quality was always equal or better than Demon/Thus. This brings total to 5 SIP's on our home office system. No quality or service issues in 3 years. Would be great if Draytel added an easy to " to go number" with same function as SKYPE "TO GO" service which has 6 preset short code access numbers one can dail from a mobile, for international destinations.

Have been using Draytel VOIP for a few years now without any real problems. It is actually easier to sort out than a landline. We moved premises twice and it never noticed!

Draytel VOIP is the best Pay As You Go VOIP service in my opinion. Good technical support via email. Free SIP to SIP calls. Free UK Geo number once you put some money in to your account. £10 gives you standard tarriff but if you put £20 then you get silver tarriff. Best calling rates I have seen. Credit does not expire. Use it with Any VOIP hardware available or use software like X-Lite on your Mac or PC. Carry your UK number with you anywhere in the world. You can also get a free USA number for incoming.

Update;
<br/>I have now set up my new VOIP number with Draytel using Speedtouch router and Siemens A580 IP Phone. The process was simplier than we had anticipated. The complicated things is that everyone calls the same things just slightly differently, but once it is up and running delighted with Draytel and the Siemens phone.
<br/>Draytel interface good, call forwarding good, you can even set a plan to tell the system where the calls are forwarded to when (with certain parimters), voicemail is set up - If someone leaves a voice mail as well as picking it via the phone, it will email you a recording! Sound quality good. Happy to have a business number with little cost and little effort.
