Les Menhirs Camping And Caravan Site At Carnac Is
Les Menhirs Camping and Caravan site at Carnac is an English friendly clean, well run site, situated in a lively area with lots of bars, cafes, shops and close to a lovely beach.
The size of the touring and tent pitches vary in size, some being much better than others. Access to some pitches with large caravans is difficult and they may need to be un-hooked from the car and pulled onto the pitch. There are trees overhanging some pitches which do provide shade, but I felt they blocked out too much sun.
Although the bar provided lively entertainment until 11.30pm, at 11pm the site is patrolled to keep noise to a minimum, however, this prevented even quiet talking amongst friends walking back after an enjoyable evening at the bar as the site warden was too readily available to 'tell people off'. He shone his torch into awnings disapprovingly at the slightest sound and did make people feel like naughty children for just chatting quietly.
The on site shop was great for fresh baguettes and croissants and the take away provided good food without the walk into town.
My teenage children spent many happy hours at the enclosed, hard surfaced football area and made new friends for various nationalities and
the shower and toilet blocks are very clean and well maintained.
Local markets provide fresh produce and nearby towns Vannes and Auray are well worth a visit with lots of french culture and cuisine.

The Site Is Great For Families, It Has Everything
The site is great for families, it has everything they need in a clean safe environment. There are plenty of things going on around, I particularly recommend a trip on the small road train, which you can get off at various stops and then resume your journey later.Quiberon and the Cote Sauvage are well worth a trip (about 20 miles away)Book with any of the companies who are on this site but would not recommend Matthews. Our mobile home was shocking. It stunk and was very shoddy, the rep dropped us at the door and then was never seen again.Really took the gloss off a great place.

We Stayed At Les Menhirs June/july 07. It Was A Wo
We stayed at Les Menhirs June/July 07. It was a wonderful park & lovely area. The holiday reps 'Keycamp' were fantastic and helped us as much as we needed. The pool was also great and was suitable for all the family.
Also the close proximity to the local town & beach was a bonus and we regularly walked into town in the daytime & nightime as it was only a 10 minute walk away.
Overall lovely site, lovely area and lovely staff.
