Great service, Fridge freezer has plenty of room and easily assessable, the service received was excellent as the fridge freezer would not fit through the door, the delivery men were more than happy to take the doors off and put back together when placed in kitchen, friendly service. They also took away all packaging.

“Samsung RS21”

Bought a Samsung RS21 from new, this fridge/freezer looks good and is good when it works properly, however am very disappointed with Samsung. Their after service is criminal the RS21 model has a few design flaws and Samsung should have recalled or rectified this model when they discovered a solution for the problems. Sorry to sound very harsh but am very disappointed and seriously out of pocket.

“been good and reliable”

I bought RS21FCNS in 2006. It has failed now (05/2014) and only because of a power cut in our area. With a major purchase like this you do expect a lifetime reliability but not in this case. It was plumbed to a water outlet and over the years both fridge & freezers have done their job with cooling our food. The ice dispenser and water have also worked. Looking at the reviews here I was not aware of any problem - I don't have Which magazine and rarely watch watchdog. So maybe I was lucky however I am looking at replacing this with another Samsung. I hope it is still wise to do so and it lasts longer than 8 years.

“Still working....thanks to British Gas Homecare”

I bought this about 8 years ago. It is a great design, I love the milk hatch and the ice and water dispensers. I have a home care agreement, which has now replaced the freezer section totally, including the pump for both sections. To be fair it has only needed them out twice, but both times it was a major problem...so buy it, I would again, but make sure that you have some kind of insurance or warranty..also the skirt has fallen off...which is a bit trailer trashy.

“A Great Buy”

The Samsung RS21 is a fantastic Fridge Freezer, not only does it look fantastic, It is also like a tardis. I was amazed, as was my wife and children, as to just how spacious this Fridge Freezer is. Our previous fridge freezer was considerable smaller, noisier and actually cost a lot more than this one. These factors have been an integral reason for writing this Product Review, as I was blown away at the value for money with this Fridge Freezer. Also due to the increased capacity, we don't have to go shopping as much, which is another Unique Selling Point for this Samsung branded product. It also matches the brand of phone I have, which is a nice extra bonus. A great product that I 100% recommend to anyone with a large family.

“DO NOT BUY ANY SAMSUNG FRIDGE FREEZERS”

As you may well have read they are terrible, customer service really rude when the appliance broke (due to fault they knew about but did not inform people before warranty ran out) they have tried saying the fault is not on newer models yet i have read lots of people with new models saying thiers have developed same problem, that being the ice build up in fridge side which eventually breaks the fan. Do not waste your money on any samsung fridge freezer.

I completely agree! We bought the RS277 side by side 3 years ago. HUGE CRACK SUDDENLY APPEARED in the freezer door...inside where the ice comes down from ice maker to ice in door. Samsung says only 1 year warranty. Lowes Protection Plus denied due to cosmetic only. Will have to start letter writing campaign now.

Totally agree. We had the heater fitted by Samsung engineer after seeing the watchdog program. Came in yesterday and guess what it's iced up again. Can hear the fan catching when it spins. My husband rng us timer services today and basically said defrost it and see how it is. I will be ringing them tomorrow as I will not accept there attempt at fobbing us of

yes problem, not cooling and warm: 22 degrees. sounds like its working but actually not. I am not happy especially when they knew it had problems; why didn't they recall the model, contact the customers that bought it in the beginning as they have our details with the guarantees we bought. Not ethical business trading!!

“Common fault that can be fixed”

I have an rs21 and have had it since they first came out, its great in its simplicity, the cold water and ice maker are really useful. The freezer is a fair size and the fridge is enormous The rs21 has a common manufacture fault that causes the fan inside the fridge to eventually get frozen solid after water builds up around it over time. This will then stop it cooling properly. The fix is very well documented online and a simple diy kit (£39) is all you need to add a small heater to the fan area which combats the problem all together. Its a permant solution and weve had no issues since so make sure if buying secondhand that this has been done. My issue is with samsung, not to be trusted as a manufacturer at all. They accept zero responsibility for this problem and deny the issue altogether and for that fact i wouldnt ever buy anything from samsung again based on the way they dont care about aftercare once they have your money.

“Fingers xd - great experience”

After reading many of the negative reviews here, I am almost afraid to write my review in case I tempt providence. I've had the Samsung RS21DCNS model for over six years now and fingers xd, have not had one jot of bother. I love its appearance, that it's easy to clean, it's quiet and it keeps my food fresher for longer just as advertised allowing me to keep things after the sell by date, saving me money. And I got a good deal on the price at the time. When I purchased it, all models had the freezer smaller than the fridge; now I believe there are various combinations. When this one eventually packs up, I would go for one of the newer ones where you have equal space.

PS I've never needed to defrost it in all those years. Even when I accidentally left the freezer door open and it frosted up, just shut the door and it resolved itself. Feel sorry for those who haven't shared my experience of this product but I speak as I find and for me, it's been the most reliable electical appliance in my house.

“waste of money”

my advise is to stay a way from samsung unless you like to defrost your new fridge every few months when the fan freezes up then it will finally pack it in all together. phoned samsung to complain and got led around for a dam week before they said its not there problem but you look online to see plenty of people have this problem cant stand a company tha wont stand behind its product by the way the fridge one year and four months old just over its warranty

“SAMSUNG AMERICAN STYLE FRIDGE PROBLEM MODEL, (RSH1DTMH...”

I purchased the above in August 2009 and recently the digital temperature display went up to 17 degrees and would not come back down hence the fridge had a problem and would not cool down. I tried to contact Samsung but to no ovail owing to the fact that it was a Friday night. On the Saturday morning the situation was exactly the same so I had to contact a local engineer who told me over the telephone that he could fix the problem for £136 all in and no additional costs. He said that he would come out on Sunday to fix it. True to his word he came to my house and fixed the problem however whilst doing so he informed me that it was a common fault with this model and several other types, he went on to say that Samsung were very much aware of the problem and this prompted me to contact Samsung on Monday the following day. I talked to a guy called Mark at Samsung customer services who told me that they were aware of the problem and what the engineer had told me was correct. I told Mark that the repair had cost me £136 and that I would like them to give me my money back. Mark said they will not do this because I did not use one of there service engineers, I pointed out that they were not open to talk to and my food was going off, I had no other way to turn, they are still refusing to refund me. I told them that I had probably saved them money as it would have cost them more than this to send one of there engineers out and they actually agreed. The customer service staff were very disrespectfull, at one point they put me on hold and then cut me off, I am sure this was done on purpose as when I rang back I managed to speak to a lady who told me that Mark had told her he had finnished dealing with my complaint which was not the case at all. I explained to the lady that I had not seen the Watchdog programme, I did not subscribe to Which magazine either so how was I suuposed to know that there was a fault on this appliance. I think its an absaloute disgrace that they will not refund my money and I will never purchase another Samsung product in my life.

Despite Samsung extending the warranty to 5 years it doesn't help the fridge freezer goes wrong time after time until it is out of warranty then samsung do not want to know the "fix" they carry out does not always work - they fridge frezer works for a while once it has been defrosted, but it is because it has been defrosted not because samsung have fixed the latent defect I will never buy anything from samsung again as they do not offer customer service

I have had the same problem with my Samsung Fridge Freezer. Samsung are totally indifferent or even hostile to customers making complaints about a product that they are fully aware is not fit for purpose.

But what can you expect when the President of Samsung has been convicted of corruption.

hi i have just been on the phone this morning to samsung and i was ready to explode they just donot care
the senior tech at the executive office wass just rude and talked over me, i ended up rasing my voice
we have had the fridge freezer 8 years and this is teh 3rd or 4th time it has broken down
same problem each time, so it is a fault in the product - never ever buy samsung

“Never again”

3rd time in a year this Fridge part of this has broken down and i am now utterly peed off with it.Had to wait 5 days for an Engineer come out, only to come down next day to find it not working again. I called them back only to be told i will have to wait another 5 days for an appointment, after telling them i needed the fridge working as my Granddaughter was coming for the weekend and her medication needs to be kept in the fridge, i was then asked can i not use a neighbours fridge to keep it in. I have never been so angry I spent around £3000 in comet i one weekend. Never again.

Are you still happy, a year on? Our experience has been that the fridge freezer breaks down just after the warrenty runs out, the engineers charge you a fortune to fix it, the problem still occurs and you can't get your money back for a job that didn't work. NEVER buy Samsung - their products are rubbish and their customer service is worse.

just to let everyone know that we have just fixed our own samsung american style fridge freezer. we have the RSA1WTMH model and were adviced to buy a kit by friends of ours who buy all there water filters and shelves and things from appliance diy repairs. they have got the RS21 model that lots of people have had problems with, and they fixed there fridge using one of these repair kits about a year ago. we love our fridge but didnt want to spend to much fixing it so this seemed to be the best way. excellent service, comms, fast delivery, and really really easy instructions. well pleased.

Hi we have the same problem with our samsung fridge freezer, and have been living with the problem for the last 3 years as we coudn't afford for the comet engineer (the fridge went wrong 2 months after the warrenty ran out!!!!), we were quoted over 350 pounds to have someone come out and look and fix. Do you have the web address for appliance diy repairs, or their contact details.

Hi have what I think RSA1RTPN model, firstly the freezer gave up and now the fridge, do you think that the kit you are speeking of might help. Could this be a motor problem, need to check warranty but have a feeling it could be out.

First and last ever product purchased from Samsung.nearly £800 for an American style fridge freezer and within 3 years everything that could have gone wrong has.Never had any problem with Sony or Panasonic products.Samsung are a joke and so is their customer support.
