Does Exactly What You Expect It To Do

I hate tape water, the taste is awful but I was spending way too much on mineral water so I bought a water filter and a soda stream for when I want it carbonated. Perfect.

I've Got A Brita Aluna Water Filter, Which Is Simi

I've got a Brita Aluna Water Filter, which is similar to the Marella. I hate water. I can't stand to drink it. But I only drink Coke all day, and replacing at least some of that with water instead is something I've been trying to do for ages and failing miserably.

I bought a plant recently that will not tolerate hard water and filtered water is recommended for it. So I bought the cheapest water filter jug I could find - the Brita Aluna for £9.95, complete with 1 free Maxtra cartridge. I fed my plant and thought what the hell, I'll try some too.

This thing is fantastic! The water it produces tastes great! It comes out looking really clear and clean, there's no nasty tap smell, no funny taste that you can't quite put your finger on and the texture is almost like silk. Wet silk, but silk none the less. It's light and refreshing, like water is supposed to be, rather than something that kind of dries the back of your throat out and makes you feel more thirsty.

It's fun too! You shake the new cartridge in some water first, then plug it into the funnel. Then fill the funnel from the tap and watch it tinkle through. Discard the first two jug fulls, and then you're set for a month!

I also like that the lid has a little flap that covers the spout to keep dust/bugs/small pets out, but which is hinged so it opens just the right amount when you pour it. A good pouring spout too, no "whoops, there goes my computer" moments.

I can thoroughly recommend the Aluna to anyone who's thinking of trying a water filter (I imagine the Marella is similar).

I've drunk more water in the last 3 days then I have in the past year.

10 thumbs up!
