“disgusting”

I went to a view a second hand white clio , I was passed from one member of staff to another I was sent outside on my own to view the car which was listed on their website. It was so filthy , the interior seats were all stained there were old lunch boxes and litter, the boot was full of sand . returning inside I saw another sales man who to put it mildly didnt have a clue and said he had never seen the car.Car salesmen used to be quite persuasive and wanted to sell cars not at this place. I walked and bought elsewhere will never set foot in there again.

“A total utter disgrace DO NOT USE!”

written by Tristar1983 on 14/04/2018

I honestly don’t know where to start with attempting to write down everything negative and totally unprofessional I could say about this garage. I ordered a vehicle on the move me closer scheme and have been totally messed around. It took almost 2 weeks for the vehicle to arrive, then when it did I wasn’t contacted to arrange a time to view. I had to do all the chasing, they don’t answer their phones, they’re always ‘conveniently’ with other customers and then you get passed to someone else that has about as much enthusiasm to sell you a car as Brussel sprout. That’s actually an insult to sprouts! Car wasn’t the same car as they had put in the picture and they basically fobbed me off so much I eventually had to say I didn’t want it just to keep my sanity. Their staff even dropped the ‘F’ bomb over the phone! A total disregard for their customer, STAY WELL AWAY, BE WARNED!!!

“just totally useless”

written by DevenReynolds on 13/03/2018

I wish I had read the reviews before getting mixed up with this shambolic outfit, I have never seen such inept and disinterested people in any walk of life as these, They walk away from the desk you are sat at and go missing for twenty minutes at a time, they are unable to remember your name, get the details of the car your dealing with wrong,(buying and selling) they never answer the phone or pass messages on and don't respond to e mails the only thing they are any use at is taking your money, but goodness me even Mr Turpin wore a mask!! It beggars belief that A they got the job in the first place and B how they look in a mirror and not see what a total waste of oxygen they are .believe me when I say there is more chance of meeting lord Lucan then getting one of this lot to assist in anything, even going into the showroom in person has no effect at all ,just a set of buffoons full of hot air who's customer service skills are so lacking a new born baby would do better. I will not name names but only one person deserves any credit and she does not work in the front line but in admin, as for the rest avoid like the plague, the whole place is just a waste of land mass in Beverley. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and in writing this review I would urge you to also look at the others prior to mine, I wish to god I had!!!!!

“TERRIBLE ”

I attended this showroom few weeks ago and was met by a blonde caked in makeup and tightest skirt to the point it was embarrassing. Also dealt with the sales manager whose trousers were too tight for another reasons ... big gut. both totally arrogant and didn't listen to me were too busy giggling.

“sold me a car with defective brakes , no response to...”

written by leeroydale on 18/02/2017

bought a car from the beverley branch on 5/2/17 and picked it up on 10/2/17, after driving home the 40 miles i noticed that the brakes were making a scraping noise and juddering, having paid almost £7000 i was not at all impressed, after leaving the car at home all weekend i rang them 1st thing monday morning to complain about the deficient brakes, and was told to drive it back the 40 miles to the branch, you are having a laugh. the braking system is not working as it should and you are suggesting i drive it 40 miles. this is day 5 off calling and emailing everyday and yet no one from evans halshaw has even bothered to call me.. when i picked up the car, and requested the mot certificate, the salesman told me that they do not really issue mot certificates any more, i was a little naive and believed him. when researching the history of the car i found out via the gov.co.uk website the new mot certificate details, and low and behold advisory that the brakes were juddering, in my opinion evans halshaw knew this, thats why no mot certificate was issued to me. and thinking back, when we took the car for a 3 minute test drive the salesman had the radio on quite loud, this is to hide the brakes scraping, absolutely disgusting service and i have a £7000 car just sat on my driveway as my partner (whom the car is for) is scared about driving it, no calls or response from evans halshaw, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

“Avoid like the plague ”

Bought a car from these jokers, phoned me up 2 days before I was due to pick it up and told me they had sold it to someone else.... funny if it wasn't so annoying, couldn't do a thing, they left me with my bill for changing over my insurance..... Do not go near them they are dishonest, the salesman laughed at me and was extremely sarcastic and could not even deliver a heartfelt apology, probably because he did not give a damd!!

I was due to pick up a car at the weekend and it never arrived - Corsa Sting by any chance? I have been lied to and lied to about when the car is arriving and on Friday was told it was coming, then that changed to Saturday - I cancelled my order and rang the main customer care who seemed totally disinterested. Apparently the car didn't even arrive on Saturday! ABSOLUTE JOKE!

“Do not buy from Evans Halshaw”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ChrisB888 on 15/11/2014

Where to start.... Bought a brand new car from Evans Halshaw, Vauxhall, Beverley... Salesman literally said anything to get me to sign, then his interest disappeared. He ordered the wrong interior for my vehicle after I asked numerous times and sent emails asking them to check... and then told me I wasn't getting it as it was not what I ordered! Funny I thought the sales man ordered the vehicle! ... But it's ok as I got a service in replace of the correct £1200 interior... Thanks! Also with it been a VXR J with 20" Alloys the sales man was asked regarding RunFlat tyres, which he said yes too... After getting a nail in my tyre and still using the vehicle a little, realised it wasn't RunFlat just before it shredded.... Lucky not to wreck my alloy, damage the vehicle or even have an accident with another road user. Took this further, but unfortunately Evan Halshaw head office did nothing as I did not have this in writing. The letter I received from Evan Halshaw regarding the tyres was almost laughable! Stating "I have subsequently spoken with the Sales Executive and he said he would not have advised that and if he was unsure on any product knowledge he would refer to a brochure"... was this the same brochure he double checked for my wrong interior??? Then there is my paint work.... Passenger side wing, door and rear quarter were all sprayed before I picked up my new car... This is currently been investigated by Vauxhall.... But I am not going to hold my breath! After having the same problem with a Salesman at Evans Halshaw Priory Park Hull, and dodgy Paint work on my previous VXR H Nurburgring After a Vauxhall... Would recommend Thurlby Motors Vauxhall in Lincolnshire.

“The most dishonest car dealership I've ever known”

★☆☆☆☆

written by malachi1972 on 12/09/2014

The service I received fro the evans halshaw dealership from start to finish was nothing less than shocking! Over the past 4 months I have had endless arguments and owned a car not fit for purpose. Having finally arranged a replacement vehicle the dealer lied about costs damaged the vehicle and then at the last moment reduced the warranty from 3 to 6 months. The car I now have arrived scratched probably due to the week it spent unattended in the walk way to the car park and uncleared despite the hefty £200 I paid for scotch guarding a total waste of money. I have lost a total of £500 due to loosing my extended warranty on the first car which had a diagnosed fault on the first day of purchase along with other costs the dealer decided to add. Please do not be tempted by car prices at this dealership you would be better off buying a car privately.

“dishonest salesmen and no respect for your vehicle.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Norman67 on 26/04/2013

Dishonesty is a compliment to this company. I purchased a new vehicle from them then discovered it was an ex-display model that had spent nearly two months outside during mid winter. When confronted with this I was led to believe as far as they were concerned as I was the first registered keeper it was a new vehicle I had purchased. I am sorry but `new` vehicles do not have 22 miles on the clock. They would not budge at all not even having the car professionally re-waxed as there was no wax on the paintwork like you would expect from a new vehicle. I complained in writing to their head office over a month ago and are still awaiting a response. If I had known I was purchasing an ex-display model then I would of either negotiated on the price or demanded a new vehicle.
