I was looked after by a young salesman mudge.proffesional patient and oblidging to what I wanted from my new car. I was listened to and shown what was in my price range and reliable.no salesman pressure at all.i found all the staff very friendly and helpful and would recommend 100percent. “worst car dealer i’ve used”

re complaint hi i bought a peugeot 3008 car off liverpool branch on 27/03/2022 the first day engine cut out took the car back they had it for a week so had no car then they called said it had been repaired then next day same fault happened car just cut out while driving this was very dangerous as cars nearly crashed into the back of us we retuned car and said we don’t want it they said pick a another car instead of giving us a full refund they said they would part ex for another make of car so we picked a nissan qashqai with 40000 miles on the clock the first day again we took it back as there was engine lights flashing on dash and noises coming from engine they said they would put it into there service department after a week they said it needed about 5 jobs doing on the car each week they said they was waiting for parts this turned into a month then after a month they said we are waiting on the tools to fix the car so after another 2 weeks of waiting we said we want a refund then after another week and arguments they said they are charging us for the courtesy car which we refused they paid us in the end but we was still out of pocket as we had to pay first months finance on first car and 2 months insurance we went into this store on 27/03/2022 to purchase a car and 2 months later still no car this has been the worst experience of our lives no one single apology of any member of staff all management just looked the other way calls or emails would not be returned these cars shouldn’t of been given to any customer until they have been inspected to see if they are road worthy me and the wife have just been through 2 months of hell at this store staff are leaving all the time so we keep seeing different staff who just blame the staff who have left from sales was appalling who kept telling us she was doing us a favour by giving us a refund every time we asked to see a manager she said they was in a meeting when we spoke to service manager we was told lie after lie after my wife’s experience she is without a car and £295 out of pocket for your company’s mistakes and days off work because of no car waiting for a refund so she couldn’t get another car off another dealer because she was waiting for refund i would also like you to send any data of this problem ie service data of cars booked in with problems and service data of any pre inspections before we where given these cars from the liverpool branch as these will be needed for the ombudsman and my legal department thanks mr mrs moore

“Consumer Rights Mean Nothing Here”

Bought a car from Arnold Clark Liverpool and immediately developed a safety defect. Can’t get it sorted for a month so as you can imagine I now have no confidence in the car. I want to return the car as it’s still well within the return period but they aren’t having it at all. They are adamant that they will repair it but don’t understand that I’m not interested in that due to lost confidence. The arrogance of the manager is staggering and it seems that 3rd reich style management is alive and well at Arnold Clark Liverpool.

Arnold Clark Liverpool have the biggest cheek I bought a new car off them nearly 4 weeks ago and still driving round with no Ariel or radio that works customer service are rubbish not interested managers not interested don't give two hoots never ever again would I buy a car from Arnold Clark only interested in sale no aftercare nothing at all, all I have had is call avoidance !!! Avoid Arnold Clark end of !!!!!!

“Took my car to Arnold Clark as it was bought with the...”

Took my car to Arnold Clark as it was bought with the service plan including a free MOT after a year. They quoted me £350 for work I had done elsewhere for £100. Took it back to Arnold Clark for re-MOT and they charged me £49 on top of £27 for re-mot for a fail that they didn't even quote me for at the original MOT!!!! Spiteful because I had my work done elsewhere and got money out of me in a different way! Do not use Arnold Clark for service or MOT!!

“Terrible service/after care”

Took out a service plan with my car, November 2015 had my first service the mechanics advised me to take my car to ford as it was still under warranty informing me my cars gearbox needed work and a cylinder was leaking, ford Checked my car out and found no problem with the gearbox or cylinder but there was a sizeable hole in a hose which was leaking fluid all over the engine. Ford then informed me this could cause my engine to blow at any time,

“Excellent sales. .Diabolical service department.”

My first experience with Arnold Clark began in may of 2015. Unfortunately the first car that I purchased had to be returned a total of five times with various faults. I had only had the car for a month. I rejected the vehicle and was able to choose another which so far has been perfect and fault free. The sales team are excellent obviously because they want your business. The service department are totally diabolical the receptionist's on the service department are truly fantastic polite and courteous. However the service department manager is the most arrogant I'll mannered person that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. This man has zero customer service skills. Because I have had to visit the service department so frequently with the afore mentioned vehicle I was able to talk with other Arnold Clark customers and the general opinion is as I have stated excellent sales team let down by very very poor after sales. Until they totally overhaul their service department I fear that many many more customers will have the same misfortunes.

“Struggling to get my car off them ”

I bought Vauxhall corsa 1.4 of Liverpool Arnold Clark told me be ready Wen finance all paid on the Thursday only thing to be paid was the amount difference which I had when I turned up on the Thursday they said can't take car because on documents there was my car to trade in! (Which I stated wasn't doing few days earlier). After staff telling me that it be sorted by 9-10 on Friday and claiming it's the finance paper work thy wrong which I contacted turns out it's not! Friday come an general manager contacted me with terrible attitude saying that I was putting my car in and wouldn't let me explain situation just kept talking over me. I then received a voice mail ! With him talking in back ground about me! Then he hung up. He claimed I had stated I was putting car in and never changed my mind! But informed me that I never had my spare key because it was in London! How did he know this if I never had conversation about taken car off as spare key was in London!!!!! His attitude was vile for a manager! And I have now put a complaint in and am trying to get finance to remove fund from them. Don't buy car from there!

“Sold Car that had hidden Accident Damage”

Bought a Ford Fiesta, which was not cheap, sales person very keen and honest looking, what a mistake, car broke down, had to get a new engine, all along it was a arguments, discovered later that it had been back ended, lost my money, no way to get your money back. Don't go there, please.

“They said my car was ready but fault not even looked at ”

Arrived at the garage for 8am yesterday (Thursday) morning with my car. First of all they had not booked me in despite the fact that I called them Wednesday morning and was told to bring the car in Thursday morning (they made a mistake ok) so I talked them through the fault again (the fault is minor, the driver door was slightly rubbing against the bodywork of the car). I was told to leave the car with them today, no courtesy cars available which is ok because I booked in the day before so did not expect one, however they did leave me stranded outside the garage with no offer of a lift to work or we can ring you a taxi! I left the car there all day, it got to 5:15pm no sign of a update call from AC so I called them and left a ring back message with reception. When they finally called me back at 5:45pm they said "cars ready". When I arrived at AC 20 mins later I asked the service reception guy if the fault had been rectified to my amazement he said "no they could not fault the door and there is meant to be a little movement in the door anyway" WHAT! when I challenged this and said it was not like this when I bought the car he said I need to bring it back because the door will need adjusting so I left the car with them overnight for the work to be carried out ASAP and as of today Friday 3rd May I have not yet heard back from AC. This is the first time I have dealt with AC After care and it has been such a poor service for a car bought brand new I will never buy from them again.

“AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE”

All i can say is negative things about this company, from the sales staff, to the receptionist. nobody has a clue what they are doing. Nobody passes on messages, nobody rings back, nobody does what they said they would do. I have never come accross a company which offers such poor customer service, and made SO MANY mistakes with our car purchase. NEVER AGAIN.

as i said "i can`t fault them" , second car now from them, no key for roof bars, as good as their word they sorted new locks out.on the day of locks fitted they even washed, hoovered the car and checked tyre pressure, off their own backs.great team, great cars,great after service go check them out!.infact i can`t fault them on anything apart from the coffee from their coffee machine. see you in 2 years time arnold clark team when we get our next car, we won`t be going anywhere else. see you then liam.

“"PATHETIC!"”

Having spent some considerable time driving around looking for a suitable replacement car for my wife, we ended up at Arnold Clark, Liverpool... Big Mistake!

The salesman, seemed an amiable sort of guy and after a brief discussion told us he had a Vauxhall Corsa coming in the following day which fitted the bill. We called the next day and took what was a nice 1.4 Corsa for a test drive. After some negotiation we ended up at an acceptable price for the car with PX and I left a holding deposit of £300. We were told that the car would be ready for collection, taxed and valeted etc in the coming week but unfortunately, (name removed) would be on holiday! As he promised to tell a colleague all about it, we said that would be OK. After a few days we rung the colleague to make sure everything was ok... he didn't know what we were talking about! We waited a few more days for (name removed) to return from holiday, where after ringing him he said the car would be ready for the following Monday. I had the funds put in place for the Monday only to be rung and told it would be Tuesday... no big deal!. Monday arrived and we were rung & told the car wouldn't be ready for Tuesday as it hadn't been taxed... it would be ready for Friday! My wife rung Arnold Clark on Friday morning to confirm it would be ready for collection, "YES, all done, see you later". My wife rung her insurers and paid an admin fee and slight increase in her insurance and arranged for the insurance swap for 3pm. We rolled up at the garage to be told that the car hadn't been taxed and they couldn't legally release it to us! WHAT? The Manager came across only to apologise and shrug his shoulders! I got my £300 refunded before having to sit on the car park and explain to the insurers over the phone we needed the insurance put back on the original car to enable us to get home! Arnold Clark Liverpool are the biggest gang of incompetent salesmen I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with! I wouldn’t let the Manager manage a sweet shop, never mind a large car outlet (no offence to sweet shop owners intended!). The search continues!

I have always had excellent service at arnold clark sefton street and will not go anywhere else, they collect and deliver your car for you and always give it a wash and hoover out before bringing it back and it doesnt cost the earth!!

Arnold Clark, Liverpool.

I would just like to say the reason I gave a One Star rating was because I could not give a Zero Star.
Had an accident with my car and took it to Arnold Clark Liverpool to be repaired and also to have my second service done. The car was not repaired correctly so had to be taken back for a so called one hour repair. 7 hours later I was I told that there was good news and also bad news. The good news was my car was road worthy and the bad news was that Arnold Clark could not do anything more for me. I paid just under £2000 for the repairs. After an hour or so of arguing Arnold Clark finally acknowledged their short falls and agreed for another garage within Arnold Clark to sort it out. It was then that I noticed that they had not even painted the bumper correctly and that there were chips in the paintwork, the foam was also falling out of the bumper on top of a gap of at least one inch between the bonnet and bumper. A few days later I received another call from Arnold Clark Liverpool informing me that the car was ready. On inspecting the car, I noticed that they had stripped the paintwork down to bare metal on three parts of my car. They again acknowledged this and agreed to correct it. No apology was given.
Not only did it take three attempts to fix the car, it also took them 17.5 days. I had to take additional holidays for all this.
As far as any complaint goes, you will be wasting your time. The organisation of Arnold Clark is not interested. All I have been offered as a goodwill gesture is £78.53. What a joke. I will not accept this at all.

If you are after any free advice, avoid Arnold Clark. You only have to look at the forums to see how unprofessional they are.

All I will say after my experiences with Arnold Clarke is...avoid like the plague if you are buying a used car from them. I won't bore everyone with the details, just heed my warning! It's going to take me a while to clear the debts caused by my faulty vehicle!
