The Worst Car Dealership Ever?

Where to start? Probably the worst car buying experience ever.

Purchased a used Ford Mondeo from them. Initial experience was positive. The car broke down a week later and was taken back to Evans Halshaw Coatbridge. Salesman couldn't care less and tried to fob me off. Service department eventually fixed the car at their cost.

Several weeks later I took the car to my local mechanic who came back with a nice bill for 422 pounds to replace the rear brake caliper, fix a brake fluid leak and various other faults the car left the garage with.

Once they have your money, you are on your own. They don't care about taking responsibility for selling dodgy cars and customer service is non existent.

To anyone reading this - don't waste your time or money with them. Keep on driving and find a decent, reputable garage to purchase a car from. I learned the hard way! 1 star awarded as there isn't an option for 0!

Evans Halshaw Coatbridge

I bought a ford fiesta zetec (runabout) that was £3.500 from the coatbridge branch less than 8 weeks ago i have had to call the A.A out 5 times for the clutch problem. and this is the 3rd time i have taken it back to them. they treat you like you are in the wrong even tho the car clearly left there forcourt with this problem they refuse to take responsibillity or fix the car to the correct standard all they keep doing is bleeding the clutch for the slave cylinder to leak air in to the system a week later and have the same problem repeatedly. its still under the warrenty and i took the 2 years extended warrenty also. these people have no respect for the customers once you buy the car you are on your own. dont buy from these people.

Totally agree that this garage is a waste of space, I also bought a car that required £300 worth of work 2 weeks after purchase. We're not interested even with extended warranty, told me to take it to a Citroen garage as they didn't have the equipment to sort suspension, bill came to £1100 to fix and not covered under warranty. Citroen garagea Aldo reduced the bill as best they could to help. Evan halshaw not interested. Won't be back.

Don't trust this gargage, after sales extremely poor, do not trust the warranty either, especially "pendragon" if offered refuse and go somewhere else.

I have to agree with this review, awful company! Even Arthur Daley would be ashamed of the business conduct of this lot.

I purchased a Ford Mondeo from them and have had nothing but problems with it. Broke down a week after buying it and i've just had 422 pounds worth of work putting right problems it left the garage with. All out of my own pocket as well.

To anyone reading this - avoid, avoid, avoid! Worst dealership ever!

I bought a Nissan from them a few months ago - the initial sale was fine and I collected my car on the allocated date. 30 mins after leaving the sale showroom the engine management light came on. I immediately took it back to be told their garage had closed and to bring it back on Monday. As I was very clear that the car was for work and I had only had in an hour, I asked for a courtesy car and was told they would give me one - 5 weeks later I was still waiting for my car to go in for repairs. The salesman kept promising me a courtesy car - I cant get to work without a car as no public transport to that area plus I work 25 miles from home so really needed one. I was promised he would call, he "forgot" and he never called me, I had to call him. I eventually took time off work and took the car to them - they called 4 hours later, its fixed come pick it up. I went down started the engine and yes, the engine management light came on straight away. I had to leave it with them, was without a car for a week while they fixed the timing chain - apparently their mechanic stripped the car then went on holiday for 3 days and they didn't have another mechanic to put on the job - so my mother had to drive 100 miles a day to take me to work, I had to cancel overtime, had to pay someone else to look after my horse - all in all I was £500 out of pocket - I complained repeatedly to their manager and asked for compensation - he is now completely ignoring me despite assuring me that he likes to end things on a positive note with all his customers - what rubbish. Letters to their head office have been ignored. I'm now suing them through my solicitor for compensation. Don't buy a car from Evans Hals haw, they are only interested in your money, their after sales sucks and they are not interested in resolving customer complaints - preferring to ignore you in the hope that you will go away.
