Simple Travel Insurance

On holiday in Barbados, husband was taken seriously ill and we were not able to travel home when we should have, he was hospitalised for two weeks with severe breathing problems. Simple arranged for a doctor from England to be flown out to Barbados, first class flights home, and transport to hospital in England. Unfortunately my husband passed away shortly afterwards but Simple refunded all expenses incurred by us promptly and with courtesy. Downside was having to stay in Bridgtown's Queen Elizabeth hospital, never again, £100 per day for dirty private room in desperate need of renovation, unfriendly staff and disgusting food. However, we have used Simple for 5 years now using both annual and single trip policies and will be doing so again.

Had two phones and an Ipod Touch taken from a villa in Lanzarote - probably by a cleaner or someone with a key as there were no signs of a break in. Simple refused to pay out due to

9. theft from your holiday accommodation unless there is evidence of violent, visible and forcible entry thereto

Simple Travel Insurance is a dreadful company, avoid at all costs. They do not handle their own claims
