“Costing us so much in repair bills”

★★☆☆☆

written by richardgladwin on 31/07/2023

We bought the treadmill and it’s used once a day. Just when the 1-year warranty expired, it went wrong. Argos didn’t want to know and the repair has cost us over £200. 1 month later it started smoking and we are again facing a hefty repair bill. I tried to add a review on Argos’ website but it was removed. They only want positive reviews. For a £1000 bit of kit you’d expect much better quality. Unfortunately this is the last repair and then we’ll cut our losses and go with a different brand.

“Bought a Proform Treadmill for my son around four...”

Bought a Proform Treadmill for my son around four years ago. Thought it was OK for a while, but stopped working. No obvious reason. Sadly they no longer offer parts for it as they have moved on ... and their advice was that I should buy a new one as it would be a better long term investment. Given that the first long term investment I made with them turned out to be a very poor short term one, I would recommend "run away"!

This is a cheap treadmill so bear in mind "you get what you pay for".
The Pro-Fitness Folding Treadmill belt does move depending on how you set it up - you have to get the roller tension right in the middle and then tighten the side that the belt slips toward.
Also this tension affects the rolling speed. You do need to tinker with this and the resistance setting to get it right for you!
Don't give up too easily and be methodical with your set up and this will do fine for home use over more expensive models!

Absolutey rubbish yes it's cheap but not at all cheap enough for the poor quality. Mine went back to Argos the next day!

Just received the pro fitness electric treadmill £199 in Argos. I can't seem to get it work! You cannot hear the motor moving. Is there something I have not done or do you think it's broken? Any help would be great.
