The mofa was a beautiful bike, it was a great idea but in the wrong market. The fact that it was cheap and had the enfield brand was enough to sell it initially, but in a country like india, it was expected to compensate for the inadequacies of public transport in the early 90s.... that was too much to ask for. My Chemistry teacher used to ride this bike to work daily (abt 8 miles one way... she was always on time and I hated the mofa for that... but it did not last long. Yipee!!! it was a great bike for short distances, and only if the roads were good.
All in all, though it was a glorified bicycle that used fossil fuels and it was easily affordable, but people were not trampling each other to buy it coz, there was tvs 50 that was more durable and fuel efficient.
