“My wife and I took my Mother and Mother in law to Don...”

My wife and I took my Mother and Mother in law to Don Pietro's for Mothers Day. Booked a table in advance and on arrival it was like we were well known to the Owner, who fussed and fussed over us. It was actually quite sickening and cried desperation even though it was my first time of going. I had Chicken Liver Pate and Bruschetta for starters. The Pate was obviously just scooped using an ice cream scoop out of a tub of Pate, surrounded by dried out Bread with a bit of lettuce. Presentation was poor and I would have preferred Tesco's sandwich pate with more flavour. Could see how this was going to turn out. I had Veal Milanese for Main course and the veal was the thinnest I had ever had. It was almost like i was just eating batter, along with the non fresh pasta, I actually felt ill and could not eat the majority of the main course. None of us enjoyed the food or the atmoshere with the over friendly owner who was kissing all the women when they walked in, and the food that was obviously not freshly made and will never return there. If i didnt have my mother and mother in law with me I would have refused to pay the bill, but didnt want to cause a scene with them there. I went home after, opened a tin of ravioli, put it on some toast and thorougly enjoyed it.

What a lovely family friendly restaurant. The staff are extremely efficient and pleasant. The food was delicious and well presented. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and most of all i got value for money.
