Fantastic Food
Went to Alexander's for lunch and the food is absolutely fantastic - clearly cooked by a very talented chef. Food was reasonably priced and portions were spot on. All of my family enjoyed their courses. However the service could be better and the menu is somewhat limited especially when catering for a member of the family who is a vegetarian.

Birthday Garden Party
Having used Alexanders many times for dinner, breakfast or just a coffee we are always happy with the quality and value. A year ago Sandy and his team catered at our local village hall for over 100 locals and French visitors from our twinned village. It was excellent and we recently had no hesitation in asking he and Nicola to provide 'Afternoon Tea' for my wife's milestone birthday party in our garden. 90 guests were well catered for with Pimm's and bubbly plus canapes, sandwiches, home made cup cakes, delicious fruit tartlets and of course scones. Wine was supplied on sale or return so no dry glasses and everything was prepared on site.
Nicola was very attentive to detail in arranging everything for us and we have no hesitation is recommending them for any event needing outside caterers.
what a pity he does not follow through with all his clients. he is rude, unprofessional, has staff untrained. Perhaps they should all take a leaf out of Nicolas book.Would never recommend. Already advised friends and family not to go there. Bad news travels fast. What goes around comes around.

High Quality Eating Experience
The problem I have writing this review is basically where to start, I cant compliment this restaraunt enough. As I work on the Carlton Centre I have become a regular at Alexanders, wether it be for coffee, lunch, or an evening meal. The standards set by the owner Sandy are very high and in my opinion they never faulter. The staff are always very efficient, helpful and most of all friendly, no matter when I go I always recieve a warm welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always someone on hand to deal with any requests you may have. The food is pure quality, and excellent value for money. There is always plenty of choice on the menu which changes frequently, and the chefs can accomodate all tastes with slight variations if required. A lively atmosphere in the day, and more relaxed as you would expect on an evening. Very spacious layout therefore pushchair/wheelchair freindly, and parking right outside the door. As you can tell I am a huge fan, and cant speak highly enough, I wouldnt hesitate in recommending Alexanders to anyone, but dont just take my word for it, give it ago!!

Waitress Was A Bit Scruffy But Pleasant Enough.
Waitress was a bit scruffy but pleasant enough.
Starters limited if you don't like pate or fish. Main course could have been done with being hotter but was still nice and very flavoursome. Chef obviously knows his stuff.

As A Regular To Alexanders With Only Living Round
As a regular to Alexanders with only living round the corner, we decided to book my sons christening meal here knowing the delicious food, good service and excellent value for money and the relaxed atmosphere Alexanders has.
We had the venue to ourselves as promised from around 3:30pm until around 8pm at no extra charge...all our guests (24 in total) dined for £10 per head for a 3 course meal given a choice of starters, main and dessert! Although service was a little slow at first that was mainly to to with all our guests chatting and not looking at the menu!!
Food was delicious and our guests thoroughly enjoyed it and could not believe the value for money.
We were allowed to decorate with balloons, table sprinkles candles etc and even the Christening cake was displayed for all to see. Great place to have on your doorstep.
A lovely end to our little boys very special day.

I Feel The Need To Respont To The Review From The
I feel the need to respont to the review from the west country person who attended a August bank holiday private party.
I am shocked at the comments.
The restaurant was booked for a private buffet function that weekend for the grand total of £300. This was for sole use of the restaurant provision of staff and buffet on a Sunday afternoon.
They had a whole dressed salmon b and ham eef joints and various fresh made salads and bread.
I prepared the food myself and take great pride in my work.
The booking was made for 35 Adults and a few children. In the end we reckon over 80 people arrived.
I am dissapointed that we were left looking stupid because the numbers were so much more than we agreed.
Obviously there was never going to be enough food because it was never booked for such numbers.
I have spoken to the person who booked the event and expressed my feelings.
If anyone thinks they can book a quality venue for sole use and get a very good buffet with meats and fish and salads for £3oo including VAT and staff then i am surprised.
So judge us fairly and pop in and see if we look like we deserve the guest from the west countries review.
