The Braun 8985 System Is A Piece Of Garbage The Cl

The Braun 8985 system is a piece of garbage the cleaner lasted 3 months and at 200$ you would expect it to last a whole lot longer than that.I sent in a request for help and waited 2 weeks for a reply and recieved nothing so sent in a 2nd request and was told i could not make another request as my e-mail was on file. After 2 weeks there is no reason to not get a reply.trying to find help for this product is like pulling hens teeth if I could give a 0 rating i would but it's not possible so I give it a 1 star by force

I Bought The Braun 8985 Syncro 360 Shaver From Boo

I bought the Braun 8985 Syncro 360 shaver from Boots It was on special offer - a third off (at time of review). When I got it home, it looks great, and well designed. It's easy to setup, and the manual is very easy to read and uncomplicated. When I used it for the first time, I thought it was noisy, but not as noisy as the previous Philips. It shaved well, even removing my short stubble. The control is a bit awkward, you have to slide it for it to function Off, On, Fix and Trimmer. It's not especially easy to slide when you have slippery hands. It actually took me less time to shave in the morning, and more comfortably than it did when I had a Philips. Once you've finished with it, and place it back in the dock, it senses that it could do with a clean, and so it automatically carries out a cleaning, lubricating and drying cycle. The Eco mode which I do every day takes about 33 minutes, but most of that is drying and leaves the shaver smelling fresh and clean, and it feels like a new shaver every morning. I'm also surprised about the cartridges, as each cartridge lasts up to 30 cycles on Eco mode, and that is if you clean it every day, which isn't bad at all (almost a month), and the replacement cartridges cost £7.49 for a pack of 2 at Boots, which is also very reasonable. The cutter block and foil need replacing every 18 months, but it's only £16.50 for the pack, unlike £39 for all three cutter blades for a Philips. It's well built, well designed and it performs brilliantly, and it's a Braun too!
