The Shield Deluxe 2008

I've used Shield Deluxe for two years now and for most of that time it performed very well that is until a few months ago. My pc which runs Vista(which I have no serious problems with) started getting a pain in the a**e internet niggle. When you go to click on a page on any browser(I tried them all,I.E.6,7 & 8,Firefox,SRWare iron & Google Chrome) the screen would come up stating I.E. could not display webpage try refreshing the page. Which I did,sometimes it would take over 20 presses of F5(refresh)before the page displayed even then some pictures did not display correctly (they had the red cross in them).

The same happened on Windows mail.It would fail to send/receive e-mails until I clicked the send/receive key a number of times.

I finally read a similar problem to mine on a game help page on facebook which said that Kaspersky caused this problem and seeing that the Shield Deluxe is cheaper version of this I tried pausing the anti-virus protection for a spell,and hey presto my pc was like new.I no longer had to manically press F5 and could complete online forms in one go.

And before you say,yes I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it remained the same so the contract is up in a couple of weeks and guess what,i'm not renewing it. I think I might try Avast Pro next,so watch this space.

I think this is a good antivirus, It did not slow my system down and immediately detected a virus which my previous antivirus could not find. The only problem was it blocked me from connecting to a freelancer multiplayer server. Otherwise its scan was fast enough with low impact on my system resources.

The Shield Deluxe 2008 is a good antivirus. It had a fast scan with a low impact on system resources, it also discovered a virus that my previous antivirus did not detect. The only annoying thing is it has a high rate of false alerts and detections meaning that it may block you from certain things. Another thing that potential buyers may want to know is that when it says you need to scan for malware and you click the fix button - you will probably not notice anything. That is because it comes up with a small icon down in the bottom right corner - click that to bring up the scan progress.Reccomended to beginner users.
