I am obviously one of the unlucky ones. I have been paid 2 lots of expenses in the last 17 weeks although I have put in weekly expense reports for all of them. They basically make up their own rules and add and change to not have to pay what they owe. I would certainly not recommend this company without thoroughly checking their 'small print' regarding Client Billable Expenses, especially if you have a lot of them like me. Currently £4,000 out of pocket and starting legal action. Their arrogance and lack of contact is alarming. Very unprofessional company.

“A disaster”

Disappointing. .Made me sad. Were unwilling to recover my outstanding pay from the agency; That's their whole/core purpose !! Took months batting questions back and forth. Had to drive them all the way. They cocked-up the contract so could not push for resolution as it would expose their errors. Dreadful customer service, lying about response times of a day. Had to escalate to CEO, still unresponsive. I ask you to do your research, you read this review so be advised to look

“Absolutely awful experience”

Absolutely awful experience. Non-payments, late payments, unfathomable pay slips, duplicated pay slips...totally inconsistent. Left Danbro weeks ago and still waiting for a payment and my P45. Complaint picked up by the person I dealt with - I'd like to say she has been thorough..but thoroughly useless and unreliable seems more accurate. These companies need better regulation and accountability.

“Don't really understand the bad feedback”

Not sure if the poor feedback is aimed at the Limited Company side, but as an umbrella contractor I have been with Danbro for most of 5 years and have NEVER had an issue, always been paid on time and has been trouble free too when claiming expenses from the companies I've worked for. The only negative I have is that the payslips are very confusing and could do with some explanatory notes.

“Ruined Pay, Expenses and Withheld Referral Award”

I was recommended to use Danbro by a business associate of mine, and can honestly say that this has been the worst experience I've had using an accounting/payroll organisation to date. This is not on the back of a misunderstanding, nor is this sour grapes for being on the right or wrong end of a dispute; this is the honest and truthful outcome of the sole experience of using Danbro, and I can only implore others to head my experience if deciding to use this company. What should have been a simple and straight-forward assignment (Acting as my umbrella company for a very short-term fixed-contract, outlined to Danbro from the outset) has unfortunately descended into an absolute farce. To date, I have/have experienced: - Changes and modifications to my pay without any notice, consistently receiving lower than quoted net payments for my contract - Been forced into using my own time to contact HMRC on their behalf, despite being my 'employer', for THEIR issue with HMRC and employee tax codes. This, after having written confirmation by HMRC twice - twice regarding this. Apparently it's my fault if they cannot see something on a LIVE database between themselves and HMRC. - Been passed between 4 different members of staff regarding this issue, including the assistant manager on the responsible team. This has included an extremely patronising and inappropriate lecture on how "payroll works", how "we are not your accountants" (despite me paying you on a weekly basis to process my money) and hearing how "HMRC don't like us" in relation to apportioning blame and responsibility for the issues faced, - Having not been paid consistently, and have had weeks MISSING from payroll processing due to "Missing the lines off the spreadsheet". Danbro have even admitted that this was done to "Keep their NI stamps in sequence/order". An absolutely astonishing admittance and reason for not paying their employee for that week. - Expenses have not been paid properly either, despite the recruitment agency and the end client approving this and sending them over within the required time frames. This was eventually passed on to their head of Quality and Service, where I was asked if I could "send any receipts I could find" with the other solution being to fill the car up 3 weeks after the contract had come to an end, to then supply them with a receipt that they could massage in somehow? I genuinely cannot believe that a head of quality and service was asking me if this was possible, and being seen as a genuine solution. Had this been highlighted at any point, by either the assistant manager or any of the numerous other people I've dealt with from the beginning or indeed any other agent I've had to deal with along the way, then it could have been dealt with at that time; I do not expect, nor am I impressed, to be told by the head of Quality and Service "I do apologise, somebody should have told you this information". - 50% of my referral award has been withheld until I enact another employment term with them (!!). This is apparently due to their terms which state that I need to work longer than 4 weeks to receive the full referral bonus: I worked for 4.5 weeks and had the full details of my employment and term length before starting. Absolutely disgraceful. - Having tried to follow the complaints process as I hadn't been paid for certain times, with weeks time and expenses being withheld intentionally on the back of their admitted mistake (so that they could keep their NI stamps in check, and because "would actually be more beneficial for you if we paid you in the new financial year anyway, as you'll have a new tax code" (Which they got wrong too - meaning I'll now have to wait until April 2018 before their mistake can be rectified) I was put in contact with their head of quality and service. After an initial phone call, I was told she would be in contact the following day. After attempting to reach her via her colleagues for the last week, and again after leaving a voicemail on her phone, I had to call the assistant manager and ask him, AGAIN, to contact her. The end result was the following: "Firstly I would like to apologise for the fact it’s taken me a week to come back to you on our previous conversation. I have received the messages from my colleagues this morning and I know you’ve been waiting for a reply" There is absolutely no excuse for poor time management, lies or excuses to fob off a customer of your service - and this is from the 'head' of quality and service? Danbro have admitted wrongdoing verbally but will offer nothing to rectify or put these issues right (Thanks again for telling me to fill in more forms for HMRC to put right an expense that you have messed up) I can only offer this complaint as a warning to others, and consult specialist advice on proceeding with the next steps of a formal complaint forward.

“Had to pay for benefits not required- NO Refund”

Enrolled for benefits not required wouldn't allow me to reclaim these expenses. Make sure what you signing up for. pension company linked to Danbro haven't returned calls or message.

“Appalling frustrating service ”

Appalling experience with this firm. They refuse to give a notice period when they will calculate your VAT by, which means it could just be the day before. I was just given one week's notice to pay my last VAT bill. I would second the other reviewer that they are unbelievably rude on the phone especially the team managers. It would be advisable for this company to start recording phone conversations to see exactly how rude their staff are and what appallingly poor service and advice they provide. I constantly have to chase them for advice, nothing is forthcoming. For example it's now July and I still haven't received my corporation tax bill due in August so I'm having to chase them for it. It's a job managing them which is ironic as they state 'Our is to facilitate our clients as much as possible to leave them concentrate on their work'. Nothing could be further from the truth. Avoid at all costs.

Helpful staff where nothing was too much trouble I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for my next contract.

“They haven't got a clue and very RUDE!!!”

My husband is with them under umbrella company and wanted to change to a limited company. I am a tax accountant so I asked them relevant questions which they could not answer. If they cannot answer the relevant questions then how are they even in the business?? I cannot believe how rude the staff are. I have never been spoken to like that in my life. Extremely rude!! They said they had severe training, but I didnt see any of it. I am extremely shocked that they couldnt even answer simple questions and kept saying that I need to speak to an accountant. They are also extremely expensive and also get a lot of my husbands payslips incorrect. They do not even explain how they want you to fill out a timesheet so my husband keeps coming to me to see if things are done correctly. If you are paying for a service you expect them to do a good job as well as it being correct.

“Avoid Danbro at all costs or it will be very costly to...”

I had my Limited company with Danbro and paid them a lot of money per month. They just took my money and did nothing on my account other than process the basic legal requirements. They ended up costing me thousands in additional taxes that I could of easily avoided having to pay if given the advise they themselves openly admitted I should of had. When confronted they basically didn't give a damn. They were only concerned about keeping my custom so I ditched them. Danbro are only interested in your money from a point of view of how much they can charge you for their disservice.

“Avoid these people if you want more money in your pocket ”

Danbro are without a shadow of a doubt the worst umbrella company I have ever worked with. Their customer service is non existant, they assign a team to you and when you email them with an enquiry they never reply. They will not tell you if you have made a mistake on your expense form until the afternoon your pay goes through, they tend to send an email saying that some expense has been flagged so there fore it will not be counted. Yet they state all expense forms need to be completed before the Tuesday cut off point to allow them to check, however it seems they don't check them. They just don't bother including it. I would avoid this company at all costs as they do not give value for money or seem interested in you. There are a lot better ones out there then Danbro

Believe me, you know all about my issues and why I think you are by any shadow of a doubt the worst company. You never answer emails, you tell me two hours before my payroll is due to go in that expenses are not getting paid, yet you expect them to be in for checking on a tuesday and the pay roll goes out on the thursday so it is obvious you do not check them or raise the point that something is flagged until there is no time to do anything and then it takes all the next day to get something done that you should have done in the first place! You claim to be here for the contractors and to get the best out of our money. My last week at work I ended up with £531 from an invoice of £831, you did not do my expenses for my last week and I ended up with only £100 after I had deducted my expenses. You tell me if you would be happy with that level of service. When we leave a comment on Facebook about your level of service you remove the comment then block us so we cannot tell how bad you really are.

“Avoid at all costs”

Danbro was imposed on me by Agility Resourcing Agency. First none of them made clear that if they act as umbrella company they would deduct employers NI from your hourly rate, so be careful with that if you working thru agencies using them, as you end up paying both. Secondly they did not inform me that they started deducting employers pension contribution from my hourly rate either, was informed about that almost a month later, so bad service. Whenever I called them the standard answer was to send me somewhere else for clarification as they can't be bothered. Worse they did not enter my tax code correctly and they tried to blame HMRC for not informing them of correct one! And surprise surprise I have not received my P45 despite not working thru the agency for 3 weeks and not using them since. They do not reply to emails and refuse to give me P45. To sum up if you want to have your PAYE messed up feel free to use them.

“Number 1 cheating company”

I was forced to sign a contract with Danbro services since it was my first contract job in UK. Every month they miscalculate my payment and when I inquire about it with out any regret they will agree to reprocess my payment and at least 300£ worth money will be miscalculated every month. Though I know I will receive the extra amount from HMRC in the financial year end, I expect some loyalty in the process they do. I have many email proof i which they have agreed that the payment was wrongly processed with less amount. Frustrated with their services and they need to be really ashamed of their cheap and worst service.

“Do not use if you want to be paid on time”

When it works, it works well but the last few months I haven't been paid on time and have spent countless hours chasing up non payment of invoices. The higher up the chain of command you go, the better the service but overall the service is terrible and although there are some friendly, helpful people, they are few and far between

“Best company I have used by a mile”

Joined Danbro as an umbrella contractor back in May 2012 and always found their service to be far better than any other umbrella company I'd used previously. The staff are friendly and my payments were always processed on time and were accurate. After working through the umbrella for a few months my agency increased my pay rate and contract length and I decided after much thought to go limited. The transition between the umbrella to limited was seamless, I was allocated my own personal Accountant and again the service and advice I received was supberb. I've left now to take up a permanent role but wouldnt hesitate to get back in touch with Danbro again should my circumstances change.
