Bought a lamp which arrived broken and with no documentation, and no self-addressed sticker to return it. Spent ages trying to reach someone on the phone, several calls, several emails and yet, 3 months later only received a CHF41 refund which didn't even cover customs bill. Value of lamp CHF292- approximately still not refunded. Worst online purchase experience ever. Horrible customer service. We bought designer lamps from this company. One of the lamps stopped working and we complaint via email. No one answered within 1 month. After 1 month we got the message that the they have lack Ressourcen and they will come back to us. So far nothing happened. We bought a product that is not working and they do not seem to care. I ordered a floor lamp (over 600 Euros) from Ambiente Direct, and the lamp seemed to be flickering and the sensor seemed not to be working. So I emailed Customer Service Centre to check if there could be a solution to fix it, or I should change back to a normal switch - instead of using the sensor one. the replies from Customer Service Centre were always brief - though they did responded to me within 24 hours usually. I ordered a Santa and Cole lamp. Whilst I am delighted with the lamp (I already have another from the same manufacturer) this one came with a European plug. Contacted customer services but they just ignore you. I ordered my existing Santa and Cole lamp from another website and this came with an adapter so overall just poor service. You can try sending emails to their key Directors but you will merely be one of many hundreds of irate customers who are trying to get their money back at the same time from this disgraceful company, seemingly to no avail with some having to resort to legal action.
You could try getting in touch with one of the companies that provide 'consumer shopping guarantees' and show their certifications on the Ambiente Direct web site. The Managing Directors of Ambiente Direct will take calls from these companies because they are their clients.
It was only when we did this that any real progress seemed to occur with our refund, although we are still waiting for it to be completed.

They took my money for an order two months before they delivered anything. No communication. When I eventually got through to their customer service after 40 minutes on hold they said they would refund the remaining order but only after I'd opened a PayPal dispute through them. They then requested I close the dispute else they couldn't refund. I did this and now they are not refunding. Once you close a dispute on PayPal, you can't open another! I ordered 2 light fittings from Ambiente Direct. Delivery time was stated as 2 weeks. The goods are now 3 weeks overdue and there has been no email, apology, new delivery date or any other information from this company. Despite their statement of answering all emails within 24-48 hours I had no replies to any of my emails and the so called 'service hotline' is a premium number which takes over 35 minutes to eventually connect you to someone. We ordered a Arne Jacobsen floor lamp from this company.Their web site said it was in stock but told it was not once we had paid for it. There was a 6 week delay before product arrived. On arrival the base of the lamp was dented and scratched. As the packaging was still in good condition the damage could only have been done prior to it being sent to us. I can only confirm what other customers say - I wish I had read the reviews before I made an order from this supplier. I ordered an Italian lamp from them, and after weeks of waiting and getting only automated e-mails to my enquiries I managed to find a telephone number and called them directly. Hi - I spoke to them in their German office (I live in Switzerland) several times - they kept promising to refund, and finally did so after approx 5 conversations. I suggest you try and speak to someone, take their direct dial and keep calling. Good luck. It is very bad - the website gives the impression of a very good company but this is very misleading.

These guys are totally useless. I ordered a lamp from them on 20.04.13. They promptly took payment on 22.04.13 but then sent me an email on the 23.04.13 saying they had ran out of stock and had cancelled my order.
