Battery life extremely poor. Need to have it running from mains source mostly.

I had one for work which I managed to drop from a height of about four feet which did not damage the function of this laptop whatsoever apart from some marks on outer casing. This and the ease of use promted me to buy a Toshiba A100 Equium for private use which has never let me down. The only downside was the hard disk memory could have been bigger! and battery life is very short and on mine almost non existant after one year, instructions for the SD card reader seem to be non existant in manual. Apart from the Hardisk storage which can be upgraded this laptop has been superb.

I bought mine 3 years ago now, I have recently upgraded the HDD to 360Gb, Memory to 4Gb and the O/S to Windows 7 which runs like a dream, the only ONE driver that 7 does not have is the disk controller.
All this has brought the laptop up to the spec of a mid range new laptop and was achieved (Without OS) for £90 ex vat.
Toshiba build good systems.

Actually I owned it for 3 years and it is still in good quality and fast enough for daily use.It is a bit expensive but it is worth of money.

Bought second hand Toshiba Equium. worked well for 2 years until battery stopped working. Problem traced to board - only works on mains now. Screen easi damaged when closed - have to put paper between screen and keyboard when closed. Some keys also do not respond well now. Time for a new lap top!

The Toshiba Equium A100 is one of the few laptops with good touchpads. Could have had a bigger hard disk be default, as it's running windows Media Center. Great laptop, used for 2 years without any problems.

The Toshiba Equium A100 is a very good laptop, nice size easy to handle with handy ports. could do with a louder sound output but works very well with head phones. the two speakers on the laptop work but are very weak/quiet

Toshiba Equium A100 is generally a great laptop for presentations, media, etc with a built in wireless adapter. Fabulous for my needs.

Great Laptop overall, I'd recommend to anyone, so long as you aren't going to need it for a long time away from mains power.
