“poor quality”

★★★★☆

written by bga1963 on 20/05/2014

Have had a gokart trolly for a few years now, and although at first they seem simple and light, in reality there are a few weak spots in the design. over the years I have had to change the front wheel and bearing three times one rear wheel hub and two bottom rudder straps. The batteries also only last about a year max but I've started to buy them elsewhere and there far more reliable. On the plus side the trolly is light and easy to transport

“Not perfect but still good”

★★★★☆

written by RichyBirths on 24/10/2013

I bought my GoKart April 2012 and have used it virtually every week at least once sometimes twice in all weathers. After a few weeks I found fitting the battery, which is a key element of the rigidity of the trolley was proving very fiddly and trying to assemble the kart whilst messing with the heavy battery was not good for the back. Eventually the bracket holding the battery broke which led me to email GoKart. After about a week a replacement bracket was received albeit it would have been nice to have had an email acknowledging the problem! Fitted the new bracket to the battery and all went well until recently when I started to have trouble completing the round on one charge. The battery now 18mths old and not sure how long they should last but looks like I will need a new one. Trying to push the trolley with a flat battery is very tiring I tell you. According to the web replacement batteries can be bought from specialist suppliers for about 30% less than GoKart charge. The quick release wheels work quite well except they don't always release quickly especially in muddy conditions. However, despite the above, the kart does work in all conditions and the only improvement would be some form of brake mechanism for those descents in wet conditions when the trolley can tend to run away.

“GoKart Electric Trolley”

★★★★☆

As good as most trolleys on the market. But when things go wrong the after sales service is superb. Had mine over 2 years now and still they supply parts for free and with next day delivery. No other manufacturer matches in after sale service.

“Not Quite THAT good - Other View”

Heard and read lots of good things about the GoKart, - British made, Good Sevice, Lightweight, Good value for money are the most common ones, generally by new owners shortly after their initial purchase, But a word of caution, My friend bought one and listed all the above positives, but after 6 months usage 2 of the Light Plastic parts had broken, he showed them to me, but I can't remember what parts they were. But they did LOOK lightweight

“ Go Kart Electric Golf Trolley”

★★★★☆

written by Kuwari on 06/08/2011

I am very pleased with the first uses of my new Go Kart Electric Golf Trolley. Bought 18 holes normal battery, played (27 holes) in a long, hilly course (PAR-73),the trolley was as good at the end as at the start. Very easy to use, 3 steps to fold/unfold. The speed is easily controlled, rigid frame/structure,modren look, light, value for the money. I live in Italy, the trolley arrived after 4 days from the order day. Customer support is very helpful;I made a mistake by requesting additional item that already included with the trolley, received an e-mail verifying the additional request, received my refund immediately. I believe that many people like me are looking for a trolley that meets their needs and Go Kart will certainly satisfies their needs.

“OK, it's a good electric cart, and their aftersales...”

OK, it's a good electric cart, and their aftersales service is excellent, but... the reasons I had to call them need to be shared with you.

Firstly their website order form is a little confusing about colours of batteries (they admitted I wasn't the first person to get confused). All the batteries themselves are black, but if you want a coloured plastic battery HOLDER, you need to specify an orange, green, whatever battery. I got it wrong and they sent what I though I'd ordered within 24 hours.

On first use it started jerkily. Not good, I thought, just before it died completely on the first fairway. Can't recommend pushing it 18 holes. Phone chat with friendly service girl revealed on inspection, problem with battery contacts (has been mentioned by another reviewer). New set arrived next day, and after bit of (annoying to have to do, and fiddly) spanner work, all fine now, but this part is not a great design in my view. I also find the battery seating process a bit hit and miss. Usually needs a few goes to get everything clipped together. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but you've got to align 3 things for it to work.

In use the roller speed control takes a bit of getting used to and doesn't seem to retain the same speed setting in between the on/off switch being used. The switch is possibly too close to the roller and I might be accidentally turning one slightly with the other.

I also bought the drinks holder, which I quickly took off as it looks weird and flaps around when no drink in it. The umbrella holder works fine, but you do get bashed about a bit by the brolly when travelling over uneven ground, but better than getting wet!

I wish it had the 10/20/30 yard auto travel feature.

purchased my Go Kart in Aug 2010 used it 2/ 3times a week since purchase i can only say that it is a sold piece of kit, rides smoothly over the ground, easy to operate, power output from battery excellent, small to store in the car boot, light to carry around,an all round great trolley only one small reservation i sometimes find fitting the battery a bit of a fiddle i can never hit on the connectors and line up the plastic guides first time - maybe its my age!!

I have enjoyed using my GoKart trolley as much as I have enjoyed dealing with their customer service. They seem really focussed on making sure that you have the best experience possible. I have the 36 hole GoKart and the battery is so reliable.

One thing that might be of interest to other users is their recommend a friend scheme. If you go to the website and click on the "breeding programme", you can get a voucher for £5. I recommended that my friend get one and now we both use the trolleys when we play golf, and I got £5 to use in the shop.

Bought this trolley for my son after looking at some expensive alternatives and decided to take the gamble-glad I did, it has proved to be a great buy and hasn't let us down. Would recommend it for any one on a limited budget. Speed control can sometimes be rolled faster or slower by mistake especially when wearing winter mits! I think that the GoKart Electric golf trolley is lightweightm strong, looks cool and is very robust.

“This is my first purchase of an electric trolley. ”

★★★★★

written by capt cavey on 15/10/2008

This is my first purchase of an electric trolley.

My mate bought one and had a problem with it 24 hours later they delievered a new one and collected the old - no quibbles.

I went on to their website and liked the look of the product and also the feel of the company (go for a look you will see what I mean).

Ordered it asking it to be delivered before 3pm and ring me 30mins before arrival. Everything was done as I asked.

I had a slight problem fitting the battery however a quick call to them made me realise that I was the thicko.

Put the battery on charge and proceeded to dismantle the cart to make sure i understood the functions - anywhere silly knacka here manages to snap one of plastic wheel connectors :-(

Thought about super glue but rang them. A new connector arrived with 24hours at no charge plus a free ball (nice touch!)

The battery is strong and simple to fit - the trolley is the business.

If you are in the market for a electric trolley you can not go wrong with the Gokart Team.

Thank you

Hi, considering buying one of these trolleys. I am concerned about stability on hills. I play a hilly course and wonder if the high mounting point of the battery may be a problem. Anybody any experience on hilly courses?

Depends on how often you use it I suppose. My first one lasted nearly 5 years and I replaced it with a Lithium one, which has a longer guarantee. It's now 3 years old and still does 36 holes, even though it's an 18 hole one. Ring the company, as their customer service is excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this product and suggest that you pay more for the lithium battery.

Yes, it comes and accepts all the accessories and colourways. The only difference being the control on the handle. You will not be disappointed, it is a great machine, does what it says on the box is very reliable and comes with back up service second to none. Even when sent back for service after three and a half years use they can (at a very small fee) lend you one so your golf continues uninterupted.
