Out of curiosity, what sort of lizard do you have and what does it eat? And most of all, is it friendly and what does it do?

I love watching my cats chase each other, and fish are relaxing to watch swim around, do lizards do anything entertaining? They always look impressive in pet shops but they seem to just sit around looking imperious.

You should see them when the lettuce is put in! You think snails are slow? They run and munch!

Unfortunately, I don't think they would be as much fun to watch hunting as a gecko would be, but I bet they are peaceful!

The toads. The crickets did die, but that was because they were eaten. It was surprisingly fun to watch the toads hunt the crickets.

I used to buy crickets for my Fire Bellied Toads, but they died.

I don't have any now, but the Bosc Monitor ate mice, eggs and a little occasional dog food. The Green Iguana ate crickets (brownies they call them), mealworms and special lizard pellets. The Gecko was my son's, and he fed him crickets and mealworms. Nice menu!

That is quite unfortunate.

What do you feed your lizard? Crickets? Mealworms?

I think lizards are wonderful creatures. But you need to know how to care for them properly, and most people don't.

I'm not as big on reptiles as I am on amphibians.

Could she possibly have... a Gecko? I have had a Green Iguana and also a Bosc Monitor (Savannah) lizard. My son has had a Leopard Gecko, but I would not be brave enough to make the claim that I know everything about them! Reptiles need specialist care, even some Vets are not able to treat them, and you need to know of a Vet who has special knowledge of them. The Bosc Monitor I had died. I rescued him from someone who hadn't a clue how to look after him, so most of the damage had been done. He cost me a small fortune. I tried everything but to no avail, which is why no-one should buy a lizard on a whim.
