“Ripp Off Artists”

Written on: 26/02/2015 by Chandler442 (1 review written)

I've been dealing with Canada Trust for at least 20yrs before TD got involved that's when it was awesome. Not one single problem. I've had so many issues with them now. I had one branch in Vancouver BC screw up my vehicle loan with RBC because the teller screwed up my cheques that I ordered. She assumed I was with the King Edward and Knight st branch when I was not. I then I got a letter saying my loan was going to collections because they couldn't get the money out of my account. Well with the… Read Full Review

“TD, the US Operated Canadian Bank for the US”

Written on: 06/05/2014 by Mitchellxn45 (1 review written)

The TD Bank is not concerned about its Canadian Customers. It's more worried about keeping the US on its side and will take direction from the US to govern the way it handles its Canadian customers. The TD Bank has made deals with the US IRS re FACTA on the way it handles Canadian customers when there is no Canadian law. I am a Canadian who has had my Canadian Accounts at a supposedly Canadian Bank suspended because of a US ruling. And they don't care… Read Full Review

“Not interested in help new immigrants to Canada”

Written on: 06/07/2013

I'm a new immigrant to Canada on a 3 year work permit, it's an inter-company transfer, and I have +7 years with my current employer. When I landed, I took a lease on a vehicle and after a year, I decided that I wanted to buy my way out of it. I was being charged 22.5% interest and approached TD Canada Trust for a loan. I have been with TD for the duration of my stay in Canada and had built up a good credit history (bills paid on time etc.) They refused to approve my loan, the reason given is… Read Full Review

“Impersonal service”

Written on: 15/05/2013

I think that the Easy Web at TD Canada Trust is really exceptional and I always find the staff when I phone for a card issue, really great to deal with. However, I am also disappointed with TD Canada Trust and I am closing my account. It's a sad day but it is not the service oriented place it was, despite its exceptionally internet banking. That I will miss. I have been with Canada Trust since the early 90s. I paid off a mortgage with them in 2005. When I asked for a line of credit for… Read Full Review

Thank you Marika and Oliver (managers for Branch # 1579) for taking prompt action regarding my complaint. Accepting the fault and rectifying it right away is what great customer service is all about. “''TRUST'' NOT THIS BANK FOR A MORTGAGE OR CREDIT LINE.”

Written on: 07/05/2013

I liked Canada Trust where I negotiated my first mortgage. Then the Toronto Dominion bank took over and all hell broke loose. TD CANADA TRUST unlike its name is not to be trusted in any way, shape or form. This bank is NOT honorable in any of their dealings. It is a dishonest bank to say the least as no procedure is low enough for them to use so they can put one in default of payment. The million of dollars they are spending in publicity will not eliminate the dirt they are shoving under… Read Full Review

“Terrible overall company.”

Written on: 02/04/2013 by jclements2 (1 review written)

This bank randomly charges you, it seems whenever they feel like it, but just now takes the cake. I checked my credit card balance only to see that there is fraudulent activity on it. Thinking, no big deal I call the number on my credit card and proceed to wait on hold for 30 minutes only to have a gentleman that hardly spoke a word of english tell me that he is unable to do anything for me because I havent set up a 4 digit phone code and I can only do that through a branch... and proceeds to… Read Full Review

“I have been with Canada Trust since I was 18 years old...”

Written on: 17/03/2013

I have been with Canada Trust since I was 18 years old and now I'm 39. I loved dealing with Canada Trust back in the day, the line ups were always short and fees were average. Now that they merged with TD I have had nothing but problems, recently I noticed they started taking another fee of $2, no one asked me and I was never informed (and considering I'm in the bank all the time). Proper thing, would of been to notify me and considering I'm paying $25/mth already just to keep my money in the… Read Full Review

“Poor Customer Care”

Written on: 21/10/2012

I have been with TD for over 13 months and have seen the standard of customer care degrade only. The bank never keeps it word when it comes to providing service. They also have people replying to phone calls and giving any abrupt answer they feel so. The worst part has been the cost customers pay due to the lack of communication and support between TD Bank and TD Visa. For any issues related to TD Visa the branch officials only have one answer " Contact TD Visa not us". One thing you all… Read Full Review

“Terrible personal and service skills”

Written on: 13/10/2012

I have been with TD my whole life(over 30 years). I can't wait to switch. It has gone downhill over the years. You can't do anything without a huge amount of their suspicion put on you. Very impolite and forward always acting like..."who are you...Are you who you say you are...I doubt it, I can't prove it and neither can you." crazy unhealthy unconscious paranoia. They think they are clever and smart acting as if everyone is a potential thief or guilty liar. You don't need to treat customers… Read Full Review

“TD Canada Trust Ripoff”

Written on: 20/09/2012 by Aragon23 (1 review written)

I was a TD customer until recently. They are trying to steal $674.00 from me. These are bank charges. Not overdraft chges or anything like that. Simply $45.00 in NSF chges which I attempted to halt. I was told I had to do it in person, difficult as I was in the hospital due to heart attack. The same company kept trying to withdraw funds 2 to 4 times a day and TD CAN Trust added $45.00 every time to the $600.00 figure until I got out of hospital and made a stop payment. Bank Manager couldn't be… Read Full Review

This outsource market is hurting both the job market and the customers for every company who has done it. I have decided to leave Bell Canada and TDCT only because of their outsource market. What these companies do not understand is that a worker out of the working environment location cannot understand the system and the environmental affects on consumers condition, and therefore, there is no sympathy at all. Besides, they are not accustomed to our situations and system, and therefore, they cannot understand the consequences arising out of extra ordinary conditions. And let's face it. When we call a hotline is mostly because we either have a problem or we are dealing with extra ordinary issues and that is why we need more experienced and organized and educated person, well aware of the system and it's process and the pros and cons of these extra ordinary conditions. This leaves the consumer, (the caller) with no help and time waste, frustrated with the outcome of nothing getting her concerned job done, along with facing the consequences the system has provided for that matter. Eg. When one calls bell Canada to ask for an extension in paying his bill, has been either out of job or facing a financial difficulty in Canada. A hotline worker in India, do not understand what this customer is going through, or what will happen if they don't grant him an extension, or they wouldnt even understand what a payday loan or terms we use in canada, so even if the guy keep telling the worker that i have got a paupal or a north american draft or whatever in hands and give me time to deposit it in the bank to pay, or i will pay by western union, is useless, because to a worker in India, western union takes 3 weeks process whereas in Canada is only 20 minutes. Or to a worker in India, this guy sounds like a rip off who is trying to avoid paying his bill while enjoying all the luxury of living in Canada. They are inexperienced, rude, uneducated, careless from the switchboard level to the manager level. It is like a hamster wheel calling these hotlines. They dont even care when a client tells them that they are going to leave them because, they don't care if you have a phone or not, or if bell loses its clients or not. They just want their paycheque and thats all. Worst than that, is when they tell you at the end, "thanks for choosing us as for your service provider!"
Well! Guess what? As far as it is my concern, I would say, "no longer!" I am leaving these companies unless they come back to their senses and open their employment opportunities to local personnel.

“Bad service ”

Written on: 16/09/2012 by Dave_m (1 review written)

I just closed my account in Bayshore branch (ottawa) over a bad service. It was an easy procedure. The black clerk was haughty. She forgot that she is supposed to serve clients and started raising her voice. I was polite enough to tell her to call her manager. She went and came back after 5 minutes with one of her colleagues. Then they started both screaming and no one was helpful. I just realized that I was paying fees for unprofessional and lazy personnel. I was happy to find a bank when I… Read Full Review

“Incorrect Information from Telephone Agents”

Written on: 06/04/2012

I have always loved TD until I palced a claim March. 8th. I was told by the telephone agent that I will see my money back to my account after 10 Business days. Everytime I make a follow-up, I keep getting inconsistent information from each agent. Bottom line...it is now March 29. and I still do not see my $200.00 back to my account...Manager said, I definitely will send a feedback but unfortunately it can take up to 30 days...from 10 days to now 30 days...I wish I am a millionaire...or I… Read Full Review
