I love thus place and have been here on multiple occasions. It is an icon of London, the UK as well as for the world. The stewards are well-mannered and polite. The food is good but expensive (they all are at events anyways). The crowd management is good and makes you feel safe.

Having been to 79 stadiums around Europe over the years Wembley does not even come into my top 10, hers my reason why. Ticket prices are shockingly high! For the League one play off final (3rd tier of English football) the FA want to charge me £88 for me and the wife and £37 for my 5-7yr old to get half decent seats or just a fraction less. I paid silly before but I be doing again, so £250 for a family of 4 to watch a football match. The match programme will cost me £5 then food and travel (I will travel 400 miles) so a ball park figure of around £400 for the day! No chance you greedy gits. Oh don't buy food in the ground either it's shocking quality with shocking service at shocking prices. The stadium is based in a shocking area, you will be waiting in traffic for a few hours on your way in and redicolous hours getting out. Don't expect decent transport either because the 2 previous times I went the tube was shut just like every weekend. If you wanna watch a game of football for a decent price in the capitals best ground go to the Emirates it puts Wembley to shame on price, atmosphere and comfort and view.

Ok I know they need to pay the mortgage but £9 yes £9 for a pint? No that's not funny.

Top 10 must visit stadiums in world

well it was a pretty tidy stadium but i have seen better like brunton park. like where i was sitting was nothing like the paddock at brunton park, the atmosphere is electric there, also the southampton fans were plop. well all i can say is theres no match for the brunton pasty. also the toilets were pebbledashed at wembley, also i was floating in urine, brunton parks toilets are checked regularly every 4 minutes on a matchday. no plop in sight.

I felt i had to comment here to counter the overwhelming bad reviews. I have visited Wembley twice, one for a test match with England under 16s and a few weeks ago to watch Muse. Both visits were fantastic. The stadium is like nothing else in this country or abroad, and retains the old magic with the mesmerising arch. the staff are well-organised and friendly, and whilst catering is expensive, it certainly didn't ruin my day and both events i attended have been fantastic, thanks in part to the brilliant surroundings. i love wembley and with the only downlfall being food prices, i can't wait to grab my next opportunity to visit with both hands!

The stadium on the outside looks good, modern. Inside? terrible. it still looks unfinished. Whats the point in having a retractable roof if it doesnt cover the pitch? Also, the seats? all red and boring. the least they sould have done is designed 3 lions in the seating or even the St georges flag! would have looked neather and had a more English feel to it. The "WEMBLEY" behind the goal lools like kids have put the seats in. the roof? still looks unfinished and like a building site. Metal everywhere. should be futuristic and smooth. Look at the quality of the south african stadiums. modern, and smooth. Also the royal box is not so royal. got to walk up loads of stairs! at least the VIPs should have leather seats. then there is the metal "things" on the side of the pitch. seriously... who has that??? and lastly, the old wembley had magic. the pitch... the red carpet. where is the red carpet in this wembley? the romance in this wembley is dead and is definately NOT the home of football. I could have designed this Wembley and it would have a hell of a lot of English feel to it.

having only visited for most of the England football games I can only comment on the fanatsic acoustics of the cheering and unfortunately some booing. Access is easy and have enjoyed unobscured views from all over the stadium. The catering is expensive - but at the competitive FIFA & EUFA matches there is no watery carlsberg onsale anyway (ruling) so dont get there early to enjoy a pre-match pint or two.

Overpriced food and drinks. Terrible choice on offer. £4.00 for a carlsberg (Basically poor quality fizzy liquid). You can't get water unless you pay...bloody cheeky.
The catering area and walkways are as dull and uninspiring as an airport lounge. At least the pitch is as close as it can be and the sound in the actual stadium is amazing.
However, I just get the feeling that you are being fleeced. Which is appropriate. The management treat you like sheep and hope that you won't complain about the lack of anything that someone would normally eat or drink if they weren't forced to.
If you go there. Get food and drink before you go. Complain that they won't give water for free. Make a fuss and stop being a sheep.

I saw Girls Aloud, Jay-Z and Coldplay here. I was on pitch standing. Had a great view and a great atmosphere. Top marks all round. Sound quality was excellent too.

I was also at the Coldplay gig last Friday, my 4th visit to our "national stadium". As a result I was only too aware of the shortcommings with regard to catering. However, this time around I was lucky enough to have seats in the "club Wembley" section so thought maybe things would be a little better. How wrong can you be? A 40 minute wait for chicken and chips in a box - no cutlery available (not even plastic) - £8.50. Then £4.00 for a warm flat beer in a plastic beaker.
I hate this stadium - what a lost opportunity when building the thing from scratch, to get this side of things so abysmally wrong. My first visit was for the NFL game two years ago (going next month as well, but will not be eating). Having visited numerous American sports venues where the variety and quality of catering is on a par with restuarants I can't help but feel embarrased with so many of our Us cousins experiencing the "best of british" at this appaling venue.

I found this review very helpful because...It as warned me to not expect a very palatable catering service. It has told me that I need to eat well before my visit and not bother wasting my money on any food from Wembley. Thanks!

Saw Coldplay live here at Wembley Stadium on Friday the 18th of September, and had the WORST seats ever for a Concert, about half a mile up in the air, right up at the back of block 501, row 40, close enough to touch the roof almost. With the result the sound was pathetic all round, and the view was dreadful too. Not a pleasant venue to visit in fact, and I agree with a lot of other comments on here about the price of catering, and its quality, just one big rip off all round is my opinion. I certainly WON'T be going back to Wembley again, no matter WHO is playing there. In fact I'm a bit suprised the football fans have taken to this monsterous effigy !!!!!.....

I didn't go to wembley with the intention of eating out but because coldplay had scheduled their gig across most of an afternoon and evening it became necessary to try to buy food there.
If the cost of the stadium was, at the time of completion, deemed by some to be a national scandal then the state of caterring on offer is nothing short of a scandal of galactic proportions.
What do you start? Just attempting to sum it up in words is a struggle, such is the pittifully low standard of the catering operation. The one thing I would commend them on is that it must takes a special kind of skill to serve up slop that is tasteless, cold, unnourishing, unpleasant - and not even to have enough of it to avoid running out.
I don't like being taken for a mug - so it's simple: I won't go again.

The quality of the food available at Wembley is a disgrace. Think of the top ten of junk food and that is all that is available. We could not find one wholesome item of food to buy and the junk food served in a pathetic box was over expensive. What a shame the experience of seeing a brilliant U2 concert in brilliant surroundings was spoiled by rubbish catering.

Been to see Oasis at Wembley. The band were superb. The stadium a disgrace. For as far as the eye could see boring concrete and derelict land. It looks like the money ran out and they all walked away leaving the job unfinished. Yes the architecture is stunning but thats what modern stadiums are and should be. The infrastructure though at Wembley is appalling. Overpriced catering vans and nowhere to sit while you wait for your event. Still the dreadful transport links and scandalously high parking charges ( £25 !!). Badly finished concrete extends as far as the eye can see without any attempt at aesthetic interlude. Awful. And a shame. Should have gone to Birmingham.

I think wembley stadium is really bad. There are no good points. When i went the atmosphere was awful and the refreshments were not only expensive but they were also terrible.

Stunning stadium, but probably not quite worth its massive cost

Go there and experience it yourself, for me words cannot justify what a superb stadium it is. It looks superb, there is not one bad view, the atmosphere seems to be improving now and it's just breathtaking. The prices of the food is pathetic

I have just been on the Wemley Stadium tour and have left with the opinion that there is something missing.
I would recommend the tour but the first impressions are that the Millenium Stadium is better.
The arena is fantastic but still does not have that WOW to it.
The corporate and royal areas resemble just that and don't appear to have that extra mile.
The entrance areas behind the glass resemble an airport.
The players areas including changing rooms are ok but all the pictures in this area are of the modern underachiving footballers.
For example why is Phil Neville on the wall ? and where is Lineker ?
Outside the appearance is of a building that is well over 5 years old and nearer 10 years and unfortunately where do you park. No change from the old wembley.
The final thing you have to say is that the stadium looks well out of place with it surroundings as the place including the 1970's cash and carry's,skip yards and Mahatma Ghandi House are still a poor.

Just to correct some of your comments:
1. The FA didn't charge you for your seat, the prices for the play-off's are set by The Football League, not The FA. The Football League run and set the prices for play off finals.
2. It's not compulsory to purchase food in the ground, there are numerous outlets in Wembley High Road and more bars/restaurants are being built as we speak. The prices in the ground are comparable with most stadia in London.
3. The FA or Wembley are not responsible for running the tubes but they do liaise with TFL and one would hope that Boris and his cronies would ensure the tubes are running when there are events on in the capital.
