BUT I've had the A05 error a couple of times (in 11 years). First time tipping it on right hand side worked, second time it didn't. SO I tried tipping it on LEFT hand side and that has sorted it! Hurrah. I like the shelf layout, better tahn most I've seen. I generally use setting 2 which takes 2.5 hours but as I'm not watching it or waiting then it's not a problem

Will only clean saucepans on number 2 setting but no other problems with it's performance. After 7 years have never needed to call Indesit once for any problems. Our first and only dishwasher so far so cannot compare to any others but no complaints so far. Easy to clean and use and no reliability issues.

This machine was supposed to be AAA. I have had 3 machines, 1 3 weeks after 1st purchase. Mine throws up error codes like a toddler tantrum. Most take engineer 20 mins to resolve. I find it is ridiculously too sensitive to where untensils and cups plates etc are. In mine I can only use certain tablets etc because some seem to get stuck and so it doesn't wash the stuff abd the cycle has to be done again. Mine has been left under counter for 9 months and I can't bring myself to pay for the council to take it away.
I always had to use hottest cycle to get things washed.
The Indesit De73 is an overpriced dishwasher with too much tech that makes it 'paranoid android'. I would not recommend it to anybody.

The Indesit DE73 was a very bad buy. I used to be a fan of Indesit, I have had 2 over 20 years, less that one years use (but out of guarantee) the dishwasher remains tepid on all washes and drys. Very bad buy. I won't get another one

A Which Best Buy when bought (2003) and for performance alone (it is our first dishwasher) seems fine. The A02 fault first occurred after about 18 months. Now it seems to happen every other wash and particularly when the machine is full. Due to the A02 fault we now only use the machine when we know we will be at home and awake for it's whole cycle. We set a kitchen timer for 70' mins or so - about the point at which it gets stuck - if it does we remove a few things and then reset it on the hot rinse programme (6). All very tiresome. We will try to keep the bottom rear right hand corner clear now as suggested.

Poor build quality on this Indesit DE73. Dread to think of electric cost for the 3 hour wash. poor finish to wash at end of cycle.

I can't believe so many people have had this problem. Error A02 appeared countless times - machine would churn all night and day if left unattended. BGas service came out at least 5 times until they gave up and said it was uneconomical to repair. The repair man said never never buy an Indesit product, especially not a dishwasher and recommended Bosch or Zanussi.

Had the A01 fault come up on my Scholtes dishwasher (made by Indesit). Thanks to this post and following the tips given (Tilting to 70 Degrees) have got it working and saved myself about 100 euros. Thank you.

We've had this dishwasher for 6 years and on average had it repaired with one thing or another 3 times a year sometimes more!
A05 error message just came up again (second time this year) and that is it it's going!!!!

Indesit's customer support isn't actually very supportive, they would rather get an engineer out to you and charge a large amount of money for tipping the machine on its side, rather than tell you how to do it.
My Indesit DE73 dishwasher broke down at least fortnightly because the drip tray was full, and it was only 12 months old.
I have since thrown it out and bought a Bosch.

My first Indesit DE73 Dishwasher failed within a few weeks of purchase. After several visits by an engineer, it was replaced by the supplier. The replacement was no better it churned out lots of error messages. A-01 was the most common at first, because water leaked into the drip tray underneath, a float switch stops the machine. Initially I called out the engineer, but learned from him to tip out the water. Inconvenient and messy. Later error messages preventing operation were A-08 which I understand means the filter is blocked. The least bit of debri brought up this message. Finally A-02 which I think means an electrical fault. My machine expired with what I think was a pump failure. There were problems with the trim - wheels fell off the bottom tray regularly, the catches came away from the top tray resulting in the tray coming out completely and often when fully loaded. The blue plastic handles came off. Altogether a shoddy and unsatisfactory machine. I will be taking mine to the rubbish tip tomorrow, although it is only 3 years old. I have decided that paying for repairs is not economic.
I would not buy Indesit again.

please could you tell me where the drip tray exactly is as ive got AO1 flashing on my screen. this dishwasher has just been a total nightmare from the start go nothing but repairs to get it fixed lucky i had cover on it.

The drip tray is the base of the machine. You empty it by tipping the machine to about 45 degrees. Water will then spill out onto the floor.

Very disappointed with the Indesit DE73 results ie. have to wash mugs and glasses by hand once they have gone through the washing cycle (and I only ever use the longest wash). I now have an error A01 - Indesit want £89 to repair, and it's only 2 years old. Pulled front panel off in first week due to shoddy design. Will be buying a better model and make next time.

The Indesit DE73 churns out lots of error messages, I need help on how to erase A13 messages. Reluctant to call engineer again. Leave a comment with any advice please.

Intermittant A03 error, works 1 in 50 times without restarting the wash.
Fingers crossed, Just resoldered all the dry joints on the control board mounted behind the display.
(make sure you remove plug from mains socket)
Do yourself a favour, avoid this machine.

Indesit DE73 - I completely agree with all the comments on error messages for DE73. I have used my machine only about 12 times and out of the blue AO2 error message flashed up. After looking on the internet I found out why. There is nothing in the instruction manual on avoiding putting utensils on the bottom right hand side of the machine and I presume the error has been caused by the machine overheating. I object to paying Merloni for a service engineer to come out and fix a fault that should have never have happened in the first place. I am reluctant to buy another Indesit product again. Unless my husband can fix the AO2 fault himself, the machine will be destined for the rubbish dump. Is there anyone out there who knows how to replace the heat sensors or can send a wiring diagram? If so please email: [email protected]

Indesit DE73 - Engineer been out many many times to change things - works for a couple of weeks and then problem happens again.
Service department is normally a 1-week delay before they get anyone out then they do not stick to agreed service call times.

Agree with all previous comments on Indesit DE73. Machine ran all night without stopping - customer services were unhelpful.

My Indesit DE73 has been broken for longer than it's been working now. It regularly throws up error codes which seem to have no meaning to anyone - just try phoning the Indesit repair line and asking what it means! I have spent nearly £150 on minor repairs (loss of wheels on the bottom, broken filter, new arms x2) and I have finally taken out an extended warranty on it - Indesit can pay for its own problems! And to add insult to injury they can't possibly send out an engineer for another week (well we've lived without it for over a month now!). I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

This Indesit DE73 dishwasher was reliable for just over 1 year (until the manufacturer's warrenty expired) after that it has gone wrong countless times. I am seriously considering dumping the piece of junk and buying a Miele.

We were guided to our Indesit dishwasher by a salesman telling us it had excellent energy rating. After having used it for a year that is pretty much the only thing going for it!
After installation(by engineer), had the following problems -
1. Error code as machine wasn`t level
2. Broken Foot (engineer out again)
3. Flooded (insurance claim for damaged floor)
4. Poor washing of items on top shelf
5. Poor washing and drying of glass (leaving water stains even with high level of rinse aid)
6. Broken tablet release door
In short, this is a terrible product and I wouldn`t recommend it to a soul (other than to the comet guy who sold me it)

I agree completely.

When I bought it from Comet, the salesman was more interested in selling an extended warrenty, rather than promoting the product - which in hindsight was a bad sign.

We have have a lot of problems with our DE73 flooding the kitchen, and now we have the same problem, things on the top shelf like beer glasses are dirtier than they went in. Is there a fix ?

This confirms my views on Indesit's poor reliability.
