On the MS Maasdam August 18, 2007, we did the 7-Day Canada/New England Cruise out of Boston, heading to Montreal, with shore excursions at Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, a cruise of the Saguenay Fjord, a stop in Quebec City and the final port-of-call in Montreal.
Boarding and debarkation were very organized and went very well.
The staff members at every level were friendly and efficient.
The Maasdam is an older ship (launched around 1993) but appeared to be well-maintained and very clean.
The meals in the dining roon were exceptional.
The average age seemed to be a bit older (probably around 65 years) so if you're looking for a "love-boat-party-time" atmosphere, this is not it.. we found more wheelchairs than baby strollers on deck. However, if you want quiet elegance, this is a great cruise ship.
