Over the years I've purchased three or more Lexmark printers. I've had to replace all of them because the cover on the black ink cartridge carrier breaks off. This seems to be a weak spot on this product. Overall, other than this problem, I've found the printers to do a good job. This needs to be updated. I won't buy any more of this brand because of this.

Bought the Lexmark 1200 a couple of years ago to replace a cheap one that got trashed. Never worked properly. Bought new cartridges, still poor or nothing. Worked as a scanner only.

I use to ahve a laser printer but becase I am unemployed I could not afford a replacemant cartrigde at £180 That may seem alot but I had been using the printer pretty regular ona day to day basis from 2000 to last year 2010.
So to svae money ! Ha ! I bought a Lexmark 1200 The scanner is hand and well layed out on how to do and edit scans but as a printer ? Ha ! I might as well bought one of those John Bull printing pad sets I had when I was a kid which is over 40years ago. The Cartridge's dry up if you don't use then ! The Paper Freed ! Well !

I have a lexmark all in one printer can not get to work at all, I am using a lap top with Vista, can anyone please help in any way.

This Lexmark 1200 Printer. Is. TERRIBLE. If it prints at all, it prints crooked, and usually it doesn't even print, even if it has ink! It scans all right, but you might as well save yourself some money and just buy a scanner.

I spend more time clearing paper jams or putting the cartridges in cartridge flush to unclog the print heads than actually printing.
I bought the Lexmark 1200 series All-in-one on special offer from a supermarket, then I discovered the price of the cartridges were more than the printer. I now refil them myself which is very easy, Just prise the top off the colour and squirt the ink into the appropriate sponges and tape the top back on. Black is a case of drilling the vent hole wider to take the needle. Tell the printer its new and the ink levels are shown as full.

Used this Lexmark 1200 series All-in-one printer for about a year with XP and did the job ok, although now that I've tried to use the printer with Vista I get a "not communicating" like error message, it does scan on Vista though.

This printer is a piece of poor. It hasn't ever worked correctly since we got the thing. Sometimes it'll print a few pages, then stop in the middle of a job and never complete it, no matter what we do. There's no mechanical issue; it scans and copies just fine, although the quality is low. We've even had an instance where it refused to print a page, then woke us up at 2 am a few weeks later when it started cachunking along. Anyone who values their sanity, or their ability to get work printed, should avoid this printer like the plague.

Due to the increasing cost of ink, I won't be buying this type of Lexmark printer ever again. I tried to save some money, got a great printer for the price, but am now paying through the nose for replacement ink carts...

I like the machine and all that it does, for a novice like me it is easy to use, but when I buy a new one I will first check the price of the inks, to buy two inks, I might as well buy a new printer with a years guarantee. Well recommend Lexmark 1200 series All-in-one.

Very good quality printer although if you use it quite alot then it can get quite cosly with purchasing ink.

Probably cost of ink cartridges, but that's a problem with all printers. Also, the print head will dry up if not used for a couple of weeks or so.
I highly recommend this printer. If it breaks, I will just buy another one.

Easy to install and decent printing. The cost of the ink cartridges are more than the cost of the printer! I do not recommend Lexmark 1200 series. If the cost of replacement cartridges were reasonable it would be a good buy.

Lexmark 1200 series scanned ok, but this all in one printer for me was a waste of money, just brought a new laptop and will not install at all. Lots of errors installing it, I could only scan and not copy or print as far as I am aware therefore I do not recommend this lexmark printer.

I'd recommend this All-In-one for people who aren't too obsessed with prefect photo quality. It prints word documents well, and can cope with higher quality colour documents such as power points too. It's inexpensive, to be honest other printer such as Epson had timers on them which only allow them to last about 18 months (so why spend the extra with just as good printer standard). I have yet to know if this Lexmark will pack in at 18 months, but we shall wait and see.
Hope that was helpful.

I bought a Lemark 1200 for use with Windows XP and it worked I bought a Windows Vista and it kept saying there is a problem communicating with the printer. I then attached it to another computer (XP) and it worked but still would not work with Vista.

Lexmark 1200 series All-in-one has good scanning capabilities, but the printer itself either takes several sheets at once or grabs a sheet by the bottom right corner, creating a paper jam. I would not recommend this printer I feel it's a complete let down.

Need help with paper feed which always takes several sheets at a time and is difficult to load. Some times the screen says printing started runs through printing process and paper comes out blank.

I recently purchased a new PC which came with the new Windows Vista. A week later I purchased a new Lexmark all in one printer. When installing the printer in the way specified, it did not work at all. I only then realised that the printer drivers were not compatible with Windows Vista. I e-mailed the help desk of lexmark and within one day I had been sent the new Drivers with full comprehensive instructions on how it uninstall and reinstall the new drivers. Which worked first time. I was greatly impressed with the service and of course the printer which works like a dream. I would fully recommend Lexmark as not only does the equipment work well but the back up service is excellent, which is very important.

One problem that I cannot figure out.
<br/>We have a qued document, and printing isn't working. So I have tried canceling the qued document but it will not delete, whats wrong here? What can I do to delete this qued document that does not need to be printed.

Well I hardly think that it is Lexmarks fault that Microsoft brought out another operating system which is incompatible with current drivers. So I applauded Lexmark mainly for their good customer service in the face of what must be, to put it lightly, a pain in the neck

Yes that's all very nice, but do you really think that you should have been put through all that bother in the first place?
