Like most other reviews on here I also got tricked for 2x lots of £12, sound up for a free business directory and was no mention of this! Disappointing that companies today can get away with this immoral business practice, I’ve reported them to trading standards and strongly recommend everyone else does!

Do not use them as when you add your company to the free listing , they "upgrade" you with out you consent and the upgrade is free for 7 days but as you are not informed of the upgrade you don't check and cancel this in time and then they will bill you £ 50.00

I called 118 118 in a hurry to get a number. I knew that I would be charged about £1.20 for this service. I was asked if I wanted to be connected to which I said yes. Upon hearing the message that the charge was now £8 a minute I disconnected. However on checking my phone bill I was charged just over £10 for a 38 second call I called 118 customer services and complained and have been promised a refund by cheque. This service should not be allowed and any government that allows this blatant extortion should hand their head in shame. Consumers should be told about charges upfront. My advice to anyone never call 118 118 and if you have been charged complain to OFCOM your local mp and local councillor.

hi I think this service from 118118 operator service is bad because they charged me £25 charge just for a few minutes last week and again 1 week later £14 I wont a refund..

A friend dialled 118118 from my home phone without me realising, for a 4 minute call I have been charged a total of just under £25. This absolute robbery should not be allowed its absolutely disgusting. I am fuming and will warn everyone I know about this heinous company. I knew they were rip off merchants but didn't know to waht extent until this happened to me. They should be stopped!!

I was given a wrong number for a business today - a fax number which 'screeched' down the line at me and upon calling was given the wrong number again. A simple google search later by me brought up the correct number.... What a useless/pointless service 118 118 offers!

The text will take 15mins. to arrive and it did not arrive, in case of emergency is useless, and if you try to go for the connect call it will cost you all your credit the whole 10 pounds for nothing if nobody answers your call. The operator make sure that you stay on the line for ages while they are searching the number, not very smart for a call centre job or they tried to charge more and finish your whole load. very upset, i will not use this service anymore in my life, is better to ask the strangers on the road.

118 are a joke they offer you these great loans. Everything was fine at first. Then they say hey you have a top up. Go on the website and apply. So you try but there is nothing available and for two days they keep fobbing you off with the same excuse. The system is down. Fed up I speak to management who then say because I have a payment due in less that a week it is not showing me the top up. Yet I only received the offer on Sunday and have been trying since Tuesday. So can you tell me why you have given someone false hope who could have really used the top up offer when it's a clear regulation set by FCA to make sure your message is clear and customers are treated fairly. Does that seem fair. It's like dangling a carrot infront of a rabbit for two days then saying sorry rabbit carrots gone. Not sure where and not sure when it will come back. This is a joke company. And should not be given a full license to trade by the FCA as these things are happening on an interim license. 118= liars thiefs and very confusing

I rang to obtain a number for vodaphone I d totally lost my phone connection and couldn't ring them I didn't even connect got the number only and the rip off company charged me £14 for the privilege avoid at all costs

wife rang 118118 to get a number they got my number alright to the tune of £19.87 for 4.01 minutes I will be telling people not to use this firm

I am disgusted with the service of 118 118,when I phoned I wasn't offered the number just to put me through to then be told I would be charged £3.49 per minute for the call that was a free phone number, I put the phone down o I didn't connect. I phoned back to complain and they have charged me £34 for 4 calls with no connections to any of the numbers, so I didn't even get a service. in one of the phone calls they offered me a refund but they charged me £7 for the call. They also charged me over £7 for me to write down a telephone number which was the free phone number earlier which I didn't have a option to write down earlier. I will never use 118 118 again, it is a rip off and they should be ashamed to charge that amount. I hope they read this and I hope another firm comes in and offers a better service and puts them out of business.

absolute ripp off charged my 80yr old mother £153 for 6 short calls to hospitals ect did not relise untill phone bill arrived, should by banned from trading .AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Do not bother with them. Complete rip-off. Utterly useless as well. Charged me £11+ twice for two wrong numbers. When challenged they said they would refund the money but 3 weeks later I am still waiting.

The operator was very friendly and helpful but I paid £12.50 for a number that was unobtainable.Cannot understand how these serivices can be so expensive. would not recommend this service to anyone.

Applied for loan received confirmation that it was given two weeks later no credit agreement and no contact from 118 staff. Called a number of times to be greeted by loud advert past on to a person who could hardly speak English, only to be told give it 72 hours 7 days later still waiting. Very poor customer service.

Two calls lasting 2 mins each which cost over £20.They were unable to find the numbers, but kept me on the line while trying to find with operators that struggle to understand basic dialogue. The numbers I found in under 30 seconds myself. Don't bother using, try other alternatives. The more people that do this and avoid 1181118 the quicker they will be forced to change their business model/service/costs or exit the market place. Giving one star is over stating their service, it is a shame there is no option for no stars
