To Tell You That Cooper's Timewaster Letters Made
To tell you that Cooper's Timewaster Letters made me cry with laughter after every page and that the book was a bestseller is not enough to convey how funny it is. As the title suggests, the book is a collection of correspondence between Cooper and various company directors, ranging from the obscure (The Silhouette Collectors Club) to the political (Liberal Democrats). I hesitate to give examples of his letters as it has taken me three days to calm down after trying to tell my friend about the response from the British Peanut Council to his "latest business venture." Needless to say, this is one book you cannot share views about with your friends or book club, as all parties will be laughing so hard they could not possibly speak. The only (tiny weeny) problem I had with the book was the pain of not being able to see the recipients' horrified faces when reading Cooper's letters. I am sure they must have been priceless; however, not even the writer could see them himself which is terribly unfair. I strongly recommend you buy this book as opposed to borrowing a copy, as you will want to read it again. I doubt very much that I have, or will, come across a book which has made me laugh so hard.
