“11 days ”

★★★☆☆

written by on 29/07/2015

My car was broke after 11 days. I took it back to stoneacre in Wigan it needs coils and sparks. Well thought they supposed to check if when you left with it obviously I was wrong. Anyway need my car for work was hoping they'd fix it there and then how wrong was I. They couldn't fit me in till the following Saturday. Bad customer service no apologies nothing.

“Feeling let down”

★★★☆☆

written by ShirleyFerguson on 17/11/2014

Don't get me wrong the service team and work carried out couldn't be better and having a vedio update of any problems was cool. Unfortunately my issue lies with the cost and sale of a service price capped linked to my warranty. I was led to believe that every service would cost £150, unfortunately it was left out that this only covered a very basic service of oil and filter change.. So when I turned up and was told it would cos £360+ I was not happy. Won't be using again as this basic service has been quoted at £80 elsewhere. Nice service team, shady sales in my opinion.

Very Questionable Sales - Offered 0% finance & then tried to add £1000 to price after agreeing a Sale. Be Very aware of their questionable sales tactics at all times or it could cost you dearly. Thankfully I noticed.

“Pestering Stoneacre Call Centre”

★★★☆☆

written by Dopp on 04/08/2014

Stoneacre operate a Call Centre, based in Thorne near Doncaster. Once you have made a purchase or shown interest, the Call Centre will pester you by phone and text. Multiple advisors will call you, competing to make your service booking and sell you un-needed high profit add ons. Be careful - they start pestering so long before a service that if your service is then done too soon, you'll then be hit with the out of warranty excuse when something needs doing. They don't entertain anything that's not black and white warranty based. They lack good old customer service and customer retention skills. The Call Centre, far from generating business is very likely to drive my custom elsewhere.

“Service Calls are a nightmare”

★★★☆☆

written by cxDavies1954 on 12/04/2014

Great company to deal with apart from the constant after sales calls on all my numbers on file trying to sell me the service plan, Not needed, and they do not get the picture that I dont want their products.

“3 year old car. First MOT and 3rd service.”

★★★☆☆

written by alangle on 16/03/2014

First of all initially quoted by Stoneacre over £500 for this service , eventually came down to £465 still too expensive but went ahead anyway - was told this will be the dearest service and future ones will be around £200 , however have been quoted £400 but that's another story. . Driver picked my car up from home for service , fine , informed driver that petrol cap release not working and can this please be fixed. When car returned was told fixed now but guess what happened when went to petrol station to fill up car , yes release cap would not work so had to ask for help (again) , how embarrassing !!!. Will be looking to service car next year at different garage - someone who will listen .

“better than last time”

★★★☆☆

written by on 06/03/2013

I bought a car from stoneacre just under 2 yrs ago and was not happy with it. I decided I would go back and see about getting another car. this time the sales person was a lot better and seemed to be more knowledgeable. I didn't feel pressured into buying the car and went home with some figures and talked it over with my partner. we went back 2days later to look at the car again. in that time they had managed to get the price of monthly payments down which we were happy with. we are very happy with the new car so far as only had it 5 days. I am pleased with my purchase and am getting my faith back in them but only time will tell. but so far I feel that they have got better than last time.

I was told 30days or remainder of manufacturers warranty they do offer a lifetime warranty aswell but it's over priced and has lots of limitations it has to be serviced by them and only them every year even if car not due a service to manufacturer guidelines I'd avoid stoneacre tbh

My advice would be to look elsewhere. I've had bad experiences with Stoneacre in the past.

If there is something wrong with the car you should be able to otherwise I'm not sure

I am wanting to know how much it costs to take out a Stoneacre lifetime guarantee?   I have tried looking online and it seems, through various forums, that people have paid all different prices for the exact same product. Varying from £300 - £1200 one off payment, which is added to the cost of the car on the car order form. Stoneacre themselves have been very vague with me over the phone when trying to find out this information.

I paid £795 but wish I hadn't taken it. There is no cooling off period and you must get the car serviced by Stoneacre to keep the guarantee valid

Hi, I have paid £700.00 which was added to the cost of my vehicle. The cost is slightly dependant on the type of vehicle you purchase. I had a similar product for the previous vehicle I had which I got stoneacre to service and maintain. It proved a cost saving in the end so thought it better to take the option offered on purchase. I have researched expected costs for the next five years and taking into account a 2% inflation over that period it once again seemed to be a prudent cost saving having the Stoneacre Lifetime guarantee. I hope this helps but of course when talking money its all down to your own requirements. Good luck

If you don't want it they will normally rip you off and add it in another way and say it's free like they did with me

bought my car over a year ago haggled with salesperson to the point I got it FREE don't mind having it serviced by them save having to keep trying to find somewhere to book it in ,so go on haggle with them they have got to sell you the car your not obliged to buy it.so if rep wants commission he`ll haggle.
